Season 3's OG Regression has lasted 15 months and continues despite extensive criticism and a mass exodus of players who were effectively undermined by season 3's changes, eggwars was a minigame where solo players could feasibly take down squads of players using items to multiply their abilities and counter the numbers advantage of squads.
Eggwars was less about grinding wins and more about enjoying the game whether by trolling or stupid challenges like building clay fortresses, season 3 has destroyed that atmosphere with arbitrary limitations like cooldowns and stack limits making numerous items useless and ultimately crippling a solo players ability to counter the numbers advantage of squads.
Eggwars now follows the trajectory of Mineplex minigames where their gameplay stagnates or deteriorates by catering more to competitive players, competition is toxic and when there's too much toxicity and competition new players stop refreshing it. Super Smash Mobs is a prime example having declined by extremely toxic and competitive behavior, players often resorting to cheats and cross-teaming where in many cases players would still lose. Unlike Eggwars Super Smash Mobs does not have a shop or items to multiply your abilities with against cross-teamers that effectively represent an Eggwars squad against a solo player, you have a kit you specialize in with abilities based on the mob and squads can coordinate to counter your abilities, this often necessitated running away to keep your health from depleting and to recharge your abilities.
Similarly in Eggwars a solo player must run away alot in order to manage their health and acquire items to multiply their abilities against pursuing squads, fleeing is absolutely necessary when an opposing squad has more armor, weaponry, health, purchasing power, and reach than you and should not be punished with crippling often arbitrary limitations.
