I understand that it’s meant to keep children safe. However, they can still go to websites that are 18+, where all they have to do is click a button and they’re let in anyway. But that’s another topic. It’s just a bit unfortunate that these child protection measures also limit people who aren’t children. Friend message was very useful when you were in a party, saw another friend come on server, and wanted to message them privately or wanted to ask if they want to join the party privately before sending an invite.
Removing private friend messaging did 0 to increase child safety on the server in my opinion.
If someone wants to say inappropriate things to a child.. all they'd have to do is befriend them, and invite them into a party chat anyhow.
And if the parents are allowing under 13 yo children on without supervision then its more of a concern irregardless of whether private friend messaging is reinstated.

Btw CC party chat does not work in skyblock.. so if I am on that and my friend (who I am only friends with on CC) comes on server in main lobby.. then, I used to be able to friend message them to see if they wanted to play something else.. it was very useful jsjs

If CC or any featured server is not allowed a whisper type function because "child safety issues" ((insert eyeroll gif)) than why allow whisper at all.. the main place a child will be cornered by an abuser will be on a private world anyhow.. they aren't going to do it on server where it obvious that every message private or not is screened by the ai... its just commonsense.
Btw.. I would never argue for censorship or any kind.. I am not implying that whisper should be removed from MC altogether just that the rules are nonsensical, not consistent and most definitely haven't saved any under age people from being exposed to perverts.

I have a screenshot of their statement from this morning..
When a minor account joins.. they give notice from Ziax Ltd. 'We are the company behind Cubecraft we are responsible for collecting your personal' blablabla.. in writing that you may be exposed to uncontrolled comments and you must either be 1. 13 yo and have parent consent or 2. You have read their policy and privacy statement; so essentially by continuing to use the server you have agreed to take the liability and they cannot be held accountable.

Because, the user has agreed to take liability for being exposed to any commentary in chat (inappropriate or otherwise). So CC and/or MS can't be held responsible for underage children being exposed to this language on those main servers.
Otherwise they would have been sued many times already.
Lawyers know what they are doing when they make you agree to liability statement to continue using a service.
Obviously, the big servers are doing their best to screen for bad language and people who are predators.. I think they do a decent job of this.
But, getting rid of friend message did nothing to prevent abusers.
