I honestly think Cubecraft has mishandled the ranks and subscription system. With the earlier allocated ranks giving players some level of ownership, the switch to per-level monthly subscriptions feels monetarily aggressive. With the community ignored, implementing basic access perks feels like capitalizing on recurring revenue.
In the case of still in development games, beta game subscriptions were logical due to the need of ongoing support and game updates. However, popular games like Bedwars are not fully released and are locked behind a subscription model which disregards the respect to loyal players.
Bundles of ranks also make it challenging to cater to casual players, increasing the chances of a dwindling player base. If players decide to leave, Cubecraft risks losing more in the long run than they would gain from subscriptions right now.
In summary, this exemplifies how they focused on short-term revenue and monetization instead of loyalty and community trust. An adjustment based on player feedback would be preferred.
