It's very difficult for you to check if they are genuinely cheating or not. Because reach is caused not only by hacks but high ping too (you could be in higher ping causing opponents to out ping u hence u see it as reach, or they are in high ping and their delayed hits will be seen as reach). Most of high ping players are genuinely laggy and fixing them is out of their control or it could simply be other region players
That will most likely cause false bans for people with high pings
The anticheat will check ping before submitting the report
if its above 250 ms, then the ac will say it in chat
You can check it yourself too
But some people dont
Just do /ping followed by username

Due ro how CubeCrafts kb is even legit players feel like they're reaching and ping just makes it worse

This might be able to get checked automatically with a plugin and just checking if the distance between the attacker and victim was larger than that player's device reach range
Mobile has like what, 6 blocks reach? And goes down to 4 or 5 when you use controller?
Can just check if the distance is too far in the case it was a melee hit
Not sure about server plugins specifically but I personally made a script API pack to implement that for a friend group world
Don't think a ban like OP said would be good though
Just kick after 2-3 positive detections
Or 1 if anything but idk if there might be issues for people that use different input types in the same session

I tried making one way back that would count for lag so like it would measure how delayed the packet was and like compare it with data the server had and decide whether it was reach or not
