It's probably those damned competitive freaks that only play to win, sucking the fun out of everything and turning games into full-time jobs optimised for raising their scores on the leaderboards.
They've become so traumatized in self isolation and failure that they want to minimize any potential of losing to people who just want to enjoy the game, hoping that they'll be seen and praised by pouring their lives into ascending leaderboards which ultimately divide the playerbase and discourage people from staying.
