Elytra issue - removing elytra

In my opinion elytra is ruining eggwars, games get too long and making easy to run away from the fight.
It's just an extremly annoying features to make easier the life of runners.

Elytra won’t make a change for running itself at all, it’ll only make runners use other ways to run from a fight or use other items, the only use for elytra is getting out of the void, but again, there are other items for it, so while it would make it harder, they will always find a way to do it with other items

what you say is true but only in half, leap feather is counterable as you can push the enemy away or mess it up and fall in the void.
If you use block to build up you can use netherite pickaxe and if you use glass you have punch bow.
Elytra is an easy way to not fall in void which makes the game nearly unplayable sometimes

Elytra is only overpowered because you can fly up by using a leap

so if you use a leap, and then deploy the elytra you fly up
