Given how low of a player count it gets, and how like 70% of cube's players are free to plays, I don't see why this game specifically is pay to play.
I feel like it would be more popular if it was free. It's a fun game but I see it have a max of like 30 players at a time, less than when I'm usually online (australian hours) where it peaks at 3-4. Making it free forever might help the player count on it.
