This week I’ve only seen the sanctuary, savannah, nether, mayan and biomes maps (I’ve got FFA rank). When I asked in the battle arena chat people said there was some new update which restricted players who didn’t have VIP Level 30 to only these maps which I listed. Is this true?

I can confirm that this is not true. Maps differ in popularity and fill up quickly. Ancient, Canals, and Tropical are still available across the network, regardless of joining them through map selection or random chance. If a map says "OFFLINE" or "UNAVAILABLE" (I can't remember what it was) then it means 90% of the time that the map you are after is full, and we have hit the player cap for that map's game session.
