its clear that the 1.19 update on java is a complete disaster. cubecraft is losing money to maintain a server that doesn't even get 1k players. shutting down java will also put more resources towards their main source of income (bedrock) which will make future updates alot better

That would upset a lot of people

Name one thing bad about it

rain cloak
#

from a financial standpoint, it doesn't make any sense to update a server that gets less than 1k players and delay an update for a server with 10k+ players

admins have taken a step into the wrong direction and are neglecting the community.
first off, the player counts of last year were around 1500 players. today, the player counts are only between 800-900 today
https://minecraft-mp.com/server/24755/stats/
this has resulted in a playercount of 40% to almost 50%
The admin team did not ask the community what they wanted for the new update. They also removed game modes which still had players, such has tower defense and miner ware, which contributed to the playercount loss. They asked about what people wanted for the egg wars update AFTER they released 1.19 but they should have done it BEFORE the update even began to be worked on.

most of the new content they added was new maps, which could have been done on 1.12. only difference would be different blocks. 1.19 is far from a step in the right direction. it hasn’t done anything but evolved backwards.
balancing items is not going to fix the 1.19 update because they did not do the update right in the first place. If they had simply listened to the community before and while working on the update, it might have actually saved the java server and it won’t have the player counts that it would have now as mentioned above.

The excuse that admins that came up with "beta" for the bugs that do exist is not a valid argument. story originally said it would take 4 months for the update to come out, which actually took 3 months extra, and they labeled the update as beta and soft launch for the amount of game breaking bugs and bad game changes

had the 1.19 update been done correctly the first time, it would have been a success. but since they failed to deliver that. The consequences of neglecting your community is already showing, not only in terms of player counts, but also in anger expressed by longtime java players. people in this thread (which includes 2 ex-mods) summed up the update pretty well https://www.cubecraft.net/threads/this-server-isnt-what-it-used-to-be-and-its-bad.345568/

#

long story short, they failed at their last opportunity to save the java network

ocean helm
#

Let's imagine, if you will, that you are an admin for Cubecraft.
Now not only do you have to deal with a crappy community but also the hundreds of bugs reported each week, life would be pretty stressful, wouldn't it? Let's also talk about the fact that Cubecraft is based in the UK, which has the same timezone as where I live. I HAVE SEEN THEM POST SERVER STAUS UPDATES AT 4AM! They are working day and night!

The 1.19 update wasn't simply about updating the server to 1.19, it was converting the games to the new framework and making it easier for the team to make new updates for us. The 1.19 was chaotic for them, they litterally went through 5 project leads to get it out on both networks. They are trying to make it work and people like you aren't making it any easier.

# ocean helm Let's imagine, if you will, that you are an admin for Cubecraft. Now not only do...

I love how you are ignoring most of my points that I made
this doesn't change the fact that the playercounts are terrible
even if the new frameworks are good, it won't be enough to save java because the update wasn't done correctly the first time like it shouldve have been
imagine you wait for 7 months, for an underwhelming update with garbage changes and on top of that, they still arent willing to admit that the 1.19 upate was bad
I also already said that story said that the update would take around 4 months to complete, but it took 3 extra months for it to be released
you cant just lie to your community like that

WHAT I'M TRYING TO DO IS DEFEND THE STAFF, THEY ARE HUMAN BEINGS TO!

rain cloak
#

im just saying u cant say this will be done in x amount of time then delay it much further

rain cloak
#

this update is exactly like cyberpunk 2077s release

ocean helm
#

The same can be said for the 1.19 update, they clearly thought it would be like by us

rain cloak
ocean helm
rain cloak
ocean helm
#

They wanted to release it quickly or else people like you would have a tantrum

rain cloak
#

then they should not have said it would take 4 months

ocean helm
rain cloak
ocean helm
#

PLUS IF THEY SAID
"WE DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WILL BE RELEASED BUT DON'T EXPECT IT SOON"
THEN WE WOULD LOSE OUR 💩

#

Then we would have*

rain cloak

okay
what about the playercounts?
because that proves everything about this update

rain cloak
ocean helm
rain cloak

what points did I ignore?

I am talking about people like you blaming the staff, they had no clue about it, did they?

Have you never made a guess that turned out to be incorrect?

#

Let's revert to the original point, Why would they shut down Java? This update can be fixed, performance can be fixed, bugs and be fixed, items and shop prices can be changed. Once the update becomes stable they plan to release some crucial updates including a brand new game. The playercount will rise

I like how u always have a reason for your assumptions

rain cloak
# ocean helm Have you never made a guess that turned out to be incorrect?

I have ofc made incorrect guesses, but you can't compare it to cubecraft because the guesses I made were about completely different things (for example getting a snow day at school)
the admins were the ones in control of the 1.19 update. I did not have any control in making the decision of if there was going to be school the following day
bad argument overall
you also did not really answer my question, yes or no

rain cloak
# ocean helm Let's revert to the original point, Why would they shut down Java? This update c...

most, if not all of those issues should have been addressed on launch day because this update was supposed to birng a lot of life into java which it failed at. unfortunately, it was not suprising that the update was littered with bugs, bad game changes, and lots of people who were overall upset with this update. The playercount will NOT rise even if they address all of the issues with the 1.19 soon (which I highly doubt they will anyway). The damage has already been done to java and to the reputation of the admins/devs, which is supported by the dwindling playercounts as a result of this lackluster update, so its best to shut it down in order to improve the quality of the future updates for bedrock.

#

honestly yes shutdown java

#

nobody gives a damn about it

ocean helm
rain cloak
#

and has become a shadow of their former self

ocean helm
#

CUBECRAFT WILL ALWAYS BE A GREAT SERVER!

#

Also, they plan to bring bacj all those old gamemodes

rain cloak
#

when you keep responding with memes that’s how I know that you are running out of arguments

ocean helm
#

*back

rain cloak
#

even if they do it’s already too late for reasons i explained above

ocean helm
#

They are hardly not gonna try to bring back classic gamemodes that they and the community love.

#

Unless you haven't realised, Team Cube actually want us to be happy.

THEY COULD HAVE GONE BANKRUPT

rain cloak

XD
you lost the argument
politics have nothing to do with cubecraft s horrible update
and i’m pretty sure it’s against the rules

#

i also responded to all of your arguments so i am listening from your side of the story

rain cloak
#

tbh java should've been removed a year ago

#

devs wasting their time on a server that doesn't make money

#

didn't they say the games won't be returning unless they get 1k players

rain cloak
#

and they get under that number which is really funny

sharp sedge
#

yes shutdow java

#

like who even plays it, hypixel just has better and less buggy versions of all cubecraft games. not to mention you are always able to find a game

sweet roost

servers make barely any money from bedrock because of a minecone system

it is rather large, but they're selling thousands of ranks

right now java is making little to no profit, but this should change... something

and i think that java shutdown would probably trigger a lot of players (mainly the ogs)

bedrock doesn't really need a promotion at all, considering it's currently one of the largest network on the server list

rain cloak

well his original point was that microsoft takes a cut from the marketplace

sweet roost
rain cloak
#

ah

but java should still be closed

you're a bedrock player, we're built different

put the work where the moneys at

sweet roost
distant current

not for cubecraft

sweet roost
#

and it has a much bigger perspective because of yt creators

distant current
#

yt creators dont play cubecraft java

sweet roost
#

not rn, but in the future (when they do a good promo)

distant current
#

wasting more time and money to promote a dead server is not the answer

sweet roost
#

well java shutdown won't speed up the development process much, because both platform receive the same content (whether it's available or not)

distant current
#

afaik both servers use different framework

rain cloak
rain cloak
#

doubt that

#

unless they bring back 1.8 cube eggwars ig but still

#

cause alot of spanish youtubers loved 1.8 eggwars

rain cloak
#

cause they will no longer have to fix the 9999 java bugs that currently exist

rain cloak
#

^

#

they can work on the 9999 bedrock bugs

sharp sedge

@honest lion

rain cloak
#

@honest lion Did you take in consideration into that?

rain cloak
#

This entire thread is just full with assumptions and things made up on the spot?

#

@reef comet

distant current
#

im not finding it for you

rain cloak
#

Cube has hundreds of connections & creators yet you think that video is "promotion" if they'd put effort in something they'd make sure it isn't a waste.

distant current
#

java was a waste long before the 1.19 update

#

it shouldve been shutdown 2 years ago

rain cloak
#

Java their community is still way bigger and you want to shut down the server?

#

Name me 5 creators who are known for playing bedrock, i'll name 30 java ones

distant current
#

who cares about the creators

#

look at the player counts and the money

#

java cubecrafts community is also much smaller than bedrocks

rain cloak
# distant current who cares about the creators

A lot of players do, just one creator could bring atleast 1000 players on the server if they're dedicated. I have been around for long enough to know that most of the dutch players were brought by the youtubers. Currently Cubecraft doesn't have a creator with a big influence on the community.

rain cloak

A lot of active members are inactive though and that's normal from their point of view

This thread is just a selfish statement
