elo and others like it are the only good way to do rankings in 1v1 gamemodes

because it's not based on playing a lot

you are rewarded for beating good players and lose more for getting upset

competitive gaming ranking systems are hard to perfect, having a high win count just means you have more free time, kill/death ratio or equivalent is objective, compare people with same wins and then check ratio. ELO is good in this regard, more rewarded for more difficult foes

I think the reason why ranked, while it would be something that I personally would like to see, in reality the toxicity for the gamemode + people hacking in games to simply be annoying will turn the game from a challenge to a annoyance. It happened with ranked skywars on hypixel, so it’s expected to happen here as well

Like yeaaaah, universally the more time you have on a game, the more experience you have, but most of the top players (from top 1 to 10) have a major skill gap, where as the top 1 player will almost certainly be winning the game if a top 10 player plays. With rating this changes (not gonna say why cause I’m lazy xd, but it does changes)
