You have to know. I'm German. And the German Minecraft community is the most conservative one.
The German community hates 1.9+ the most. Many won't even play Non-PvP things because of the combat. Many still play singleplayer on 1.8 (when they play singleplayer). And if I want to play with Germans, I have to play 1.8 but I hate 1.8 PvP.

The new combat is a good balance point between 1.8 and 1.9. I come from 1.8, and 1.9 combat is just the same strafes from 1.8 with way more reaction time and without sword blocking

What i mean is that 1.9 is way easier, because you just have to ensure the other person misses one hit and then you have 0.5s of free time to reposition and combo him/her

The PvP is made to be mobile friendly. Some servers kinda twist it to give more upwards kB so you can start combos. Cubecraft decided to keep it defaultish and try and make it more like a 1.9/1.8 pvp mix

Ok so i just dueled this absolute idiot who would just spin around the tulip in the middle for like 10 years straight. He eventually made me take off all my armor and I lost. I wish cubecraft could implement a system where it stores who deals the most damage and at the end, the peraon who deals the most damage wins instead of a draw as its just super unfair to people who just wanna play .
