I'm not talking about the 'in-game settings', since there are alot of tutorial on the internet about that (YouTube).
I am talking about the real, bad, laptops. I had a FPS boost with those themes and icons.
It also gave me a FPS boost whenever I play in F11.
Really depends on what computer you are playing.

For me playing in fullscreen makes absolutely no fps difference but it's annoying that I'm not able to move the mouse on my second monitor while in a menu

It seems that minecraft actually always sets the TCP_NODELAY option, but what does regedit actually do?
Does it only disable delayed acknowledgements? How does that affect knockback in minecraft?

@lilac brook that is a very interesting article. I'd be interested to see what you find out from this too. I have known since I started putting some effort into my PvP (since April) that Minecraft just isn't built for PvP. It was created by a fella who never meant for this game to become a PvP game...he meant for it to be no more than an SMP, therefore was very lax on certain details of the game that can make it unfair for some players. I found the same kind of thing with Facebook; Zuckerberg never expected it to become the titan network that it is today, so he's just built upon what he first created and has created an abomination. Minecraft, like Facebook, needs to be built once again completely from scratch with a certain purpose in mind. Not just a bundled in JVM and new installer like Microsoft gave it when they bought Minecraft.
