and then have aurochs separate which can have alts for its horns, indian aurochs have different horns than european ones for example
Bison and aurochs look very different.
Just that i'm not confident it
Most REs have great skin/alt potential
Besides Dodo
And i doubt Solitaire would look good as a dodo alt
Animation wise
You could have classical Dodo that looks like the dumbed down version
Scaled Dodo
indian vs european aurochs
Ig either Solitaire alt, Solitaire skin or if you want to be funky Nicobar pigeon skin
Auroch is just peak filler
Scaly body, feathered head, tail and wings.
ummm
It might be difficult because they look so different.
ATM, I think, model-wise, that title goes to Charono, Bronto and maybe Tarbosaurus.
Tarbo?
The dewlap
I think Moa, Thyacline, Quagga/Wild Horse, and Dodo (assumed they don't shove it in the vivarium) is fine for a four animal pack (plus the PP and a non-bird for the vivarium). If there needs to be a second, then Aurochs, Bluebuck, then some combination of the Elephant Bird, Archaeoindris, or Warrah would be okay.
The RE Warrah (Falkland ones) would probably be vivs
If you did mainland ones which would be kidna cheating they could be habitats
Also for Aquatic and Flying REs (whether they come in a RE DLC or otherwise) Probably Baiji, Haasts, Chinese paddlefish and Steller's
Passenger pigeon, also recently extinct, would be suitable for an arboreal vivarium, but I think the great auk would be an aquatic animal DLC rather than an amphibious vivarium.
Haasts really is the only RE worth adding that would work for the aviary
Auk tbh could work as a habitat and not vivarium, sure the babies might be an issue but penguin babies are massive so just take inspiration from that
My concern, and I've said this before, is want to see the Auk gliding through the water, diving and all that. That's something just not possible at the moment, so for me regular habitat animal is the worst option
I'd argue it's kidna just the only big enough unless you're very generous with that is a habitat and what is a viv.
Why bother
Just wait for Aquatics
Those are 100% coming with diving, so just wait.
People are going want to see it hunt a moa
If diving is coming
Oh I've given up on regular animals being able to dive
But aquatics could get their own system so they wouldn't be as restrained
I'd hope once aquatics come they are just regular animals in that sense
And terrestrials also get diving as a consequence
I doubt that’s happening personally
If not tbh the JWE solution would work
Yeah, I imagine they'd get their own type of exhibits; just nowhere as restrictive as the vivariums
It's not a bad system
Certainly, there are records of the sexes and eggs of the great auks, so a full exhibit would be appropriate.
The babies wouldn't have to be hatchlings, they could start at a larger size
That's already pretty much all animals in-game
So yeah do that once aquatics are added and if aquatics are not "normal" animals do like jwe and give them a cool platform where they can make animations and stuff like that
Me too , it's my favorite of all deer species
The tuning fork
They are pretty unique + cute
I know a Carcharodontosaurid that I would love to see in the game, it's one of the largest in its family! It's the Mapusaurus Roseae
Meh
Giga is the better second big carch pick, and it's a solidly DLC-space animal.
Priority would be to something like Conc though.
Like if we add another carch Conc offers a lot we don't already have for carchs.
Rather skip the Carchas and go on the other side of the Allosauroid clade. Yang is needed.
Yeah I'd really like Yang. Very cool addition.
yeah ideally for allosauroids i'd add yang and conc and that's pretty much it
Honestly, I could probably live without Conca until way further down the line (it'd be different if Pelecanmimus was in the game)
Barremian stuff in Spain and England is pretty much equivalent, Conca and Peleca go well with Iggy and Bary (and Hypsi, Pola and the like)
mmmmm... there's something that intrigues me...
what about large pterosaurs enclosures?
That’s on the devs wishlist but solidly as a post EA thing since it’d be difficult to code
EA?
put mapusaurus as an alt for giganotosaurus
Early Access
Early. . Yeah what the guy above me said
I believe Megaloceros uses the same rig as Paraceratherium, with many adjustments. Any hoofed animal with longer legs can fit on that rig, including giraffoids and antelopes
In fact, Sivatherium probably thinks it would be relatively easy to add them by reusing the rig.
It's not a common perspective in this thread, but if you could only choose one more artiodactyl deer-like animal would it still be Rucervus? It's all about the opportunity cost with smaller games
ummm
Considering its unique appearance and popularity, it may be Kyptoceras.
Synthetoceras
Three horns were popular among prehistoric herbivores a long time ago lol.
Arguably they're 4
Ah, that's right, the two horns on the tip of his nose looked like one.
I wonder if there’s any genus where one species would work as a Vivarium animal while another is a exhibit one
I'd argue it is one. It's just a singular horn which forks into tines like an antler would.
Dimetrodon
Many probably
Lystrosaurus
I mean, the smallest species is still probably too big for a box imo
Is that smaller or bigger than a simosuchus I forgor
I think there should be a minuscule terrarium for animals that are like mere inches because I really want Mongolsrachne now
Here's hoping we get micros at some point
This, Titanomyrma, a lot of cambrian stuff...
some could definitely work in current vivarium sized aquariums though really hope they will add some of them
Extinct Horses for Year of the Horse in PK

Quagga
Reminder that this is one of the cooler arguments for Dacentrurines (and Stego itself is a Lourinha animal as well)
I mean I feel like whenever I say add Mirigaia people just say no add Kentro
Even if outdated Mirigaia was once planned anyway
why not both?
Ah yes, dinosaur fans want every ceratopsid known to man but we can only have Stegosaurus and “another one”
I have only seen people say we have enough ceratopsians
That I think it’s just a limit thing since we kinda know how many slots are left
Vivarium suggestion, Beelzebufo
There's a difference between saying that Kentro should come instead of Mira (I heartily disagree) and that Kentro should come before Mira (which I do think).
Koolasuchus and Thylacine for an Australian dlc later in the future
Thylacine would likely be a recently extinct DLC addition
my official list
-Beelzebufo
-Koolasuchus
-Thylacine
-Kelenken
-Macrauchenia
-Haast's Eagle
-Argentavis
-Mastodon
-Sebecids, specifically Barinasuchus
-Bear Dogs like Amphicyon, Daphoenodon
-Moropus
-Desmostylus
-Thalassocnus
-Dorudon
-Prognathodon
-Dire Wolf
-Pentaceratops
-Yutyrannus
-Cryolophosaurus
-Austroraptor
-Magnapaulia
-Inawentu
-Dakotaraptor
-Discokeryx
What animals do you want to see come for Prehistoric Kingdom?
Ideally, we'd get everything but we all know dev time is limited. So let's try and figure what our most wanted are. Now, there will be limits; I think the roster would benefit more from having some diversity. As such I've limited the groups as follows.
50 dinos (we have 37 confirme...
why pentaceratops and inawentu?
Pentaceratops is one of my more liked ceratopsians and it's frill can be colorful since its quite large, Inawentu is also one of my favorite smaller sauropods and it'd be nice if we get smaller sauropods to make habitats from
its quite small for sauropod standards
You just recently heard about it, and find it to be your favorite, is that what I am getting at here?
Can't blame you!
its kind of the right size
Pentaceratops is one of the better choices for a second chasmosaurine
I'd like Chasmo first personally
Chasmosaurus and Pentaceratops to balance out the ceratopsids
Chasmosaurus belli/russelli with Kosmoceratops alt?
That would be nice
Not sure if Kosmo would work though
It's a little more different than most alts allow for
Yeah maybe
what about utahceratops alt instead?
Nah
Utahceratops has like zero demand here, it’s giving Chasmosaurus an alt genus for the sake of giving it an alt genus imo
it was to add more kaiparowits representation considering that nasutoceratops was lonely
more extreme than paraceratherium and juxia?
Definitely
The frills and horns are completely different
Horns wouldn't be a huge deal, those already vary in the ceratopsians
But the frills don't really
Not that extremely
The snout shape is also pretty different
Kosmo is much longer and shorter vertically
Where as Juxia is effectively a baby para
You could say the exact same thing about Zuniceratops
i felt that zuniceratops/turanoceratops would've been better options than nasutoceratops
You really can't though?
Zuni is very much its own thing
Like idk what you think this thing looks like but I can guarantee it doesn't
It's easy to forget how different Zuni is compared to more derived ceratopsians, since you can kind of think of it as a miniature version of one of them when while it is in a lot of ways it also is not.
Zuni is the unloved middle stage of a Pokemon evolution
Proto - Zuni - Loki
Would have said Triceratops or Torosaurus because of Zuni’s horns but I guess Pokemon evolutions can be weirdly misleading
Loki also just feels more Pokemon-coded to me
In pokemon protoceratops evolves directly into chasmosaurus
That’s because fossil pokemon only get a max of two evolutions
Dwarf are always cool , aren't they?
for ceratopsians udanoceratops would be perfect since it literally looks like no other
Leptoceratopsidae is an extinct family of neoceratopsian dinosaurs from Asia, North America and possibly Europe. Leptoceratopsids resembled, and were closely related to, other neoceratopsians, such as the families Protoceratopsidae and Ceratopsidae, but they were more primitive and generally smaller.
Pentaceratops and Udanoceratops should come, then I think Ceratopsia are complete
correct me if im wrong but im pretty sure its the biggest. although i do love the other weird fellas
Perhaps some of the smaller non-coronosaurs for vivariums and the like
So it's basically a parrots and a cow mix
Nah. They can wait.
And even then, there's a few others I'd like to see.
Tbh in term of this family my whistle is penta and toro
I wonder if a lepto-Udano alt could work
Lepto is supposed to be quad these days, so probably
I could see it
Would probably be like Juxia
No real reason to believe the larger chin and such can't be a later in life thing
Yeah the lower jaw would have to change through ontogeny
Given that I guess there's like 5 genera I'd like to see before calling ceratopsians "complete"
Udano/lepto alts, Zuni/Turano alts, Chasmo (both sp)
It helps that the second largest in the group, Montanoceratops, is still quite a bit smaller than Udano
Mhm
That's probably where I'm at as well, with Penta added and maybe an Albertaceratopsian. Also Ferrenceratops/Zalmoxes once it becomes clearer what's going on with them
Chasmo and Udano for sure
And then just Stegoceras, Preno and Pachy for the other side of Marginocephalia
Seems like albertaceratopsini is basically the only major centrosaurine clade missing
And they've got some neat guys
Alberta, Medusa, and Loki
Ichthyovenator
Reminder that the notch in the spine is due to some taphonomy (the spines are bent sideways); the actual animal would probably look more like the one here.
Huh I've never heard this
I would not be shocked if PK did the notch for rule of cool anyway tbh
wha
Still cool I guess
tfw the entire reason to suggest an animal is invalidated
Are we sure that this isn't accounted for in reconstructions/skeletal references etc?
Suchomimus would be a better choice tbh, even Irritator would be
I think Spinosaurus and the upcoming Baryonyx are enough spinosaurs
At least for the time being
I think they do, actually looking at the paper. Still I wouldn't be surprised if this was more unique to the specimen (as always, the ideal answer is we need more fossils).
I thought Beelzebufo was amphibious, but the water is too deep, so land might be better suited. If there's a small puddle in the vivarium, it should be fine.
They could change water depth in the semi-aquatic vivarium depending on the animal, kind of like putting certain animals in the terrestrial one adds burrows.
Then it's okay to be amphibious.
I'd like to see Suchomimus but theres far more important additions then a 3rd Spinosaur
Like another rhino
There should be as many rhinos as there are ceratopsians
Could add all at some point. Ichthyovenator is my favourite dino tho, would love to see it somewhere
I yearn for Albertosaurus
Alberto would definitely be good
Is Utahraptor, or any other raptor species coming to the game? Id like to see a troodon or other bigger raptor, consodering how many tyrannosaurids we have.
If not, the newly brought back mini would be nice to see.
Anyone know what's in the works there?
Utahraptor's confirmed.
Somebody summon the Utah arm image
Was troodon or anyone else in that family considered?
Ty!
Considering most troodontids are just teeth, most likely no
Wait really? I was under the impression there was more then teeth. My bad.
Is Nanotyrannus being brought in?
Maybe post-EA
But until then you can pull off something similar with rex neoteny
I use 45% + brumal for lancenesis and 60% + the red skin (I forgot its name)
Interesting
so with the netflix dinosaurs documentary dropping, what taxa do you think people may want to push more?
yutyrannus?
I doubt anything will really be pushed more
Yuty has old PK to bounce off of more than anything tbh
Is it a hot take to say I don’t think Yuty will show up until post EA
At this point probably not
I want Falcatakely some time as a vivarium
Looks like a toucan
Was gonna say the same.
Prolly in the same sort of family
More than likely, we don’t know what the 2 frugivores next update are but it’s more than likely Pachy Wyoming and Spinnifer [aka stygymolch my beloved]
Yes
Yeah no. There is a complete fossil.
Well, ish
More a member of the family.
Troodon itself is dubious as fossils we thought we Troodon like this ended up different to the teeth it initially was attributed to
nope
Falcatakely is an enantiornithine, a group of stem-birds
So just kinda looks like them on accident?
A troodontid would be a pretty worthy addition at some point.
Less on accident, and more that the dinosaurs that eventually became birds had a small branch that were enantiornithes
Funky
Certain shapes reoccur because they were for one reason or another successful.
It's not as extreme as a toucan, but the similar shape worked for both animals for whatever reason.
I guess similar to how crabs just appear now
Strangely enough i don’t think that sub Rex is a good stand in for nano. It’s bulkier so I use 60%/73% for Nanuqsaurus/Daspletosaurus respectively
I actually think something like 50% Tarbosaurus is a much better stand in as it’s lankier like Nanotyrannus, the only thing wrong with it is the arms are a bit shorter, but otherwise its better to have as a stand in nano
I used 68-70% tarbosaurus for nanotyrannus, but with smallest size
It was around the same size as nano
A little bit bigger though
But it can reproduce
Stratodus, a giant, pelagic lizardfish with a cosmopolitan distribution. It lived during the end cretaceous through to the eocene
Primitive elephant would be a good choice.
Honestly, I'd like to see more Proboscideans in the game.
at least five species
3 girrafoids would be nice too
I should make my mammalian wishlist
What a wonderful discovery I just made! This species is amazing ! 😲 😯
since so far the only serious things ive done in here are both realistic packs
paleozoic and RE pack
with realistic sizes and animals for the additions in the game
and ive probably got like a solid 20 mammals outside of RE that would be great additions in my opinion
I could list way more but thats pretty pedantic at this point
that actually looks really cool
You voted in this right https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeEaCjefDpH8edx3Y-aKESFRT7rIXZPyN4dQ4YMVWwTsx1UWg/viewform?usp=header

Personally, I'd choose the following three:
Sivatherium
Discokeryx
Proliviterium
However, I'd like to see more prehistoric elephants added, as many species are well-known and popular..
I believe so
I know for a fact I started it
dont know if I finished it
I shall check
Discokeryx is so funny cause nature just evolved bashing your head into someone else’s head with a dome twice
It can be said to be the mammalian version of Pachycephalosaurus.
Imagine doing that and a vertebrae just absolutely shattering
this cannot be a real creature
Nature is beautiful ain’t it
It's real, very recent find (2022)
Neck area was probably relatively strong and covered with muscle, but there may have been some damage to the head.
Imagine we find the rest of this thing and it’s just usually tall
Giraffoids are weird but I suspect the Discokeryx's body was more like an okapi. I do wish we had more post-cranial though.
Hopefully we find more of it
lowk ill do 2 seperate lists for herbivores vs carnivores
later tho
Wish we had more of Prolibytherium (at least I could get a better idea of what we do have). The sexual dimorphism is just amazing.
Usually the female doesn't have fancy headgear
prolibytherium like top tier random hoofstock pick
(Not sure if the design is right, it looks more horse like than Giraffoid)
could those two realistically be alts of one another
iirc one is approximately the size of a smaller whitetail deer, whereas the other is approximately the size of an elk or red deer
but a pretty similar build
The big difference is the antlers/horns (don't care about the semantics) but that's something that ontogeny should take care just fine. (not an expert though or a game dev)
If both species are added, one of them may become an alt.
if they couldn't be alts I would rather have just one rather than both
more diversity
I would imagine it could be possible; Elasmotherium and Triceratops did it with their alts/skins
not quite as drastic but still possible I imagine
The Tsaidamotherium
Elasmotherium and Paraceratherium have allowed the addition of Sinotherium and Juxia through alts.
However, I think the idea of choosing one or the other is a good one.
It looks like a wizard prop hat 😭
Werid looking mage
Look man there was a mix up with the transfiguration spell ok
Just help a guy out and turn him back
normally stuff like this would surprise me
but at this point ive seen enough weird ass ungulates to where this type of stuff doesnt even surprise me anymore
like thats literally just a unicorn
actually
PK unicorn animal section
@shell sonnet can i modify my answer to your poll?
i just found out about vishnuictis
Never a problem https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSeEaCjefDpH8edx3Y-aKESFRT7rIXZPyN4dQ4YMVWwTsx1UWg/viewform?usp=header

thank you
most normal Miocene mammal
Im surprised no preJurassic/Triassic is listed animal wise. I grew up with walking with monsters. It would be nice to see synapsids in exhibits or Cambrian animals as vivarium animals.
Even as a dlc.
That or more carnivores. We got most of the major..i forget name of dinos that are known for herbivores grouping wise.
Id pay $200 to see some of the Ediacaran biota.
Because its known so little.
Anomalocaris is a must in my opinion
and people called me crazy
some of them might be a bit small though
sahonachelys its carapace is 25cm i dont think it will be a problem if you look at the sizes i wrote down to
add alienum
its way to small i was very specific with it because everyone assumes ediacaran life is small the most notable big ones are all in there
i would love to see weirdos like it though
but i think 20cm is the minimum size required
Someone already did an animation of the biotia- i think youll enjoy this
where can i see this
Dawn of Animals - the Ediacaran enigma.
570 million years ago, complex life flourished in the oceans of the Earth. What kind of life it was and how it relates to the lifeforms that followed is still not entirely clear.
In the history of life on Earth the Ediacaran period (635 - 542 Mya) is regarded as a watershed in the evolution of complex li...
Here
Now they dont have everything i think. But they take requests.
They did the Cambrian too
Cambrian Life is still perplexing to modern paleontology. The relatively sudden appearance of animalia that occurred at this point in Earth's history remains an evolutionary mystery. Various hypotheses have been put forward to try and account for the rapid outburst of animal phyla at this time but no agreement has been reached. After billions of...
people really underestimate simple things have it move like a sea annemone every few minutes and filter water with nice colours and its good to go for the game
Maybe they could be roped into helping the game? They made the models, and they've made ones that actual history museums use.
I agree
when i suggested my pack idea i suggested it as a cheap to model dlc to make in between updates that can fund the game it can have 6 creatures and cost 5 bucks but if the very loyal playerbase buys it which they will its gonna help them if anything
add a special ediacaran aquarium with it and its worth 5 euros, and the models are quite simple and low cost to produce but add so much biodiversity
I agree. Not only that but if you want to make them 'pretty' a good think to give them for color is bioluminescence, whether its plausible or not doesn't matter, but i think theyd be a part of a deep sea aquarium.. and it would make some sense for creatures who have never seen light to have that as a coloration, at least.
That and it would be attractive to guests.
pretty is very achievable if you look at modern coral reefs to, give them filter movements and they would almost give biblically accurate angel vibes. and dickinsonia would just be fun to see slowly slug over the substrate
i also feel like this is the right type of early post full release dlc they can add to assist the development of the game more. it could be done easily in between updates with the goal of funding developement
Aquarium decorations:
thats just doing grandpa dirty
sea annemones can also move so its not that strange to imagine these could also move to a better location and move enough to be interesting
I mean. Thats what ive always seen the plant like ones as. Just because of the.. appearance.
We don’t need more ceratopsians
Not stopping people from asking them...
ceratopsians are very diverse and i want a few more
Make your case
We have the big ones and little ones and like, one stegosaurus and 2 Ankys
specifically regaliceratops, torosaurus, maybe a real funky one like kosmoceratops or diablo, or a small one like zuniceratops
well duh i dont expect any before the full game releases
Ok that’s a different thing entirely
I meant no more in EA but I’m fine with more down the line
we kinda vaugley know everything left in ea anyways
release is a bit different but thats technically not ea
I mean it kinda is
I don’t think I remember everything that’s coming in u19 does someone have that one image?
Don't have it on hand, but the list is Utahraptor, Carnotaurus, Edmontonia, Kelenken, Doedicurus, and Megatherium
But now there's another 4 herbivores and 2 insectivores we have no idea about
Also, this isn't 100%, since it was translating blurred text, but we've gotten all our other guesses right so far, so I'm pretty confident
Some are confirmed vivarium
Yeah, should've said that
I have a crackpot theory that the vivarium animals in Update 19 are the species the fake Update 16 roster was based on, but my evidence for that is basically the "source: it came to me in a dream" meme, and it would mean no arthropods so I don't really want it to be true
Me wanny Arthropleura
i also feel there may be some surprising adds, like with sahonachelys
Having any of those 4 herbivores be a needed giraffoid would be great
what do you guys think these 2 will be, some kind of primate?
maybe a dodo come to think of it
It’s probably pachy
Definitely not the dodo that’s for sure
idk i dont think they announced any future vivarium animals and i think pachy would be a herbivore
specifically fruit has me thinking vivarium
Why would pachy be in a vivarium??
this
dire wolf would go so hard
from what i know theres only 1 valid pachy speceis at the moment
and then theres sygi
Tomato tomato
with exceptions most are small, and i think pachycehpahlosaurus would be noted as just a herbivore
from what i know spinfer rn is considerd sygimoloic
i may have botched the spelling
Stygi is at the very least a different species
yeah
might be a different genera depending on who you ask
not saying those wouldnt come to the game but id expect them with full release as generalist herbivores
spinfer tho is stygi from what i know tho
idk why they would specifically be frugivores
Pachy is the most likely candidate based merely on update theme
the diet doesn't really matter in some senses since a lot of the guys have several food types
also i say this cause theres no canine repersentation in the game rn
It fills the third facet of combat (interspecies) along Allo (Hunting) and stego (defense)
that would be amazing
the dastardly Mau could make it coty or something
ikr
A ground sloth would be cool but I don’t expect it tbh
but pachy just makes the most sense
Yerp
me neither but from what i remember it was classified as a fruit eater but as said that doesnt really matter
idk about then
pretty sure both were planned and idk how pachy makes more sense than a sloth if atleast a portion of its diet is fruit
i feel like there gonna add the final dino additions then
I'd expect a sloth in u19 as stated
its just more logical
from what i know most of a sloths diet is fruit actaully
It’s the combat update, pachy is known for it’s prominent feature linked to combat
why do you say that
I won't complain about a u17 sloth though
also no fruit eaters are planned for u19
combat update adding the dinosaur that is known for fighting by ramming into stuff
It was also strongly speculated on the blurred roadmap
can i see
the thing mau said applies
diet isn't as important as you're suggesting
i know that
i mean maybe. it will be in the game at some point but if we go by one of the major parts of its diet being fruit id say its gonna be full release as one of the herbivores on that list
that wasnt what i was saying
thanks
What could this possibly be if not pachy
Me
but oviraptor is also later so i wouldnt be suprised if they changed some things in that
wasnt that guy planned aswel
no
also all 4 species of allosaurus? thats a bit to many alts
That was a one time thing
It’s good
well 3 Allosaurus + S. maximus
shows the diversity of the genus
and for an animal like Allosaurus
thats needed
well, saurophaganax is now a. anax but im curious if its really all 4
It is
and if none of them are an extra vivarium species they simply never mentione
i was so confused for a sec
they've confirmed its all 4
really
why you called it its old name😭
just depends if they have it as S. maximus or A. anax
probably a anax
prob a anax
I'm expecting Saurophaganax but I can see it going either way
i mean...
thats a sauropod now
and the news is what
it'd help if I could spell
the devs value accuracy so a anax
I have my reasons
Paleomeme
lol
also S. maximus being a sauropod is a sort of not really sort of thing
there is some sort of giant Allosaurid in the morrison no matter which name you give it
I don't think the reassignment is a one and done thing either
do you guys think we will get any abelisaurs before launch
nahh
i came in here to suggest the goat
Pannoniasaurus
Carno in 19
No
Then hopefully Majunga in a dlc or update
Cause U19 is launch
is there any talk of dlc
Even then
i hope not
One is confirmed
And flyers and aquatics would probably be mostly dlc
ohh yeah the recently extinct right
With a couple of free additions
ok i doubt that one
like i think theyll have dlc
just not to like the extent of whole game features like aquatics or flyers
and if that is right
Not the whole feature
ambulocetus would be one
it would yes
But they said that if they were to be implemented most of their roster would most likely come mostly in dlcs
Merely because they would be far past free updates in the timeline
Granted this is based on random dev comments without any real weight but still
yeah i beileive the only one kinda confirmed is the recently extinct stuff but yet from what i rememeber it was jsut talks nothing final
Eh
can you show me
I feel like RE is a guarantee
Like it's been a thing for more than 8 years
Even if just in concept art
true true
It's almost definitely right, everything on it so far has been correct
we shouldnt really take something they said 5 years ago or smth as fact
Idk, that's just what recall from the many talks about the subject
Couldn't give you an exacto message
yeah but its yet to prove right on future uypdates i mean
thats fine
this still applys tho
It kinda has a bit
with utah and carno
yeah
Most of everything in the Game is taken from that type or stuff or older, most modern models and skins are heavy based if not extremely similar to 2020 and older type of stuff
Mau confirmed it while calling php's carno lame iirc lmao
I think it will different genus
For other statements sure, but RE has so much history is all but guaranteed imo
no not like that i meant we shouldnt be taking random dev comments seriously
yeah
its like a coin flip
like how he says pk Carno will not have the dance
Serial fiend even
bro couldve been rage baiting before rage baiting
I'm hoping thats not a lie because it'd be a huge blunder if it did
Suuuuuuuuure
oooo lets have the animal with giant horns use its arms for courtship
the arms that are vestigial
Carno will instead breakdance on it's horns to attract males
now thats what I'm talking about
Dawg
ddint it have pretty mobile arms
maybe?
but if any animal is dancing like that its not Carno
Perhaps pahcy and Stygimoloch
But It just feels like PP doing the classic "Erm...Uhhhh.... Hh.. Display yeah sure it's for display..."
it moved better then other theropods😭
yes and
they did that for everything
it made me so mad bro
famously not everything that evolves serves a purpose
Like me
like why did the whole show either have to be either an animal sleeping or courting, like these animals wouldve shown way cooler beahviors
thats a lot of what animals do
yeah but thats not the only thing they do
they eat, sleep, mate and occasionally hunt and fight
idk i wouldve loved to see how a tyranosaur marking its territory
and mabye defending from a rival
or
a proper sauropod migration
and mabye switch up the courting
Eh there was defenetly a lack of playing, making territory, child rearing (plenty of child eating tho) and general traversal
everytime it always was
They seem extremely sedentary in the Doc except for like the trikes maybe
eh you'd see more migratory sauropods in the Jurassic
1 or 2 extra hunting scenes would have been nice aswell
honestly i think it be hadrosaurs instead
Not showing the trike VS Rex was criminal
we kinda got the main ceratopsians
that is true
yeah
like why didnt we see rex vs trike at least once
we saw only the aftermath
also no Ankylosaurus in a Maastrichtian documentary
PP's structure was also kidna shit
I think wwd has the better format
ice age was worse when it came to this]
original that is
Is It that hard to commit to a story or atleast continent
dude ice age went from somewhere in europe with cave lions then suddenly to alaska with megalonyx and then back to the lions in the cave in europe then all the way to south america
like
whats the theme there exactly
theres some more then that
The mammal bias in Ice Age is pretty criminal aswell
like the megalania slander in the show
so what wwb does
yes because idk why they split the story between like the whole season
And the Megalania disrespect was crazy
in episodes they dont belong
They somehow make It look small
like 2 deaths
How do you fuck up so much
and then there was the villianization of all carnivores😭
i would argue the lion that escaped shoudlve been able to snatch a bear cub at least
and the other lion dies
Wouldn't have minded if the Teratornis knocked the sloth off either
Akin to eagles with goats
yeah
I think Naish said that people generally find it easier to see reptiles getting killed in these situations over mammals
which
sure that does make sense
but still
mammal bias
Most people lack empathy towards anything that isn't cute
we are mammals
I would like to see more thyreophorans
So coty is cute ?
Blasphemous that you have to ask
It would be a great surprise if Utahraptor came in the combat update U17 lol
Reminder that Ugrunaaluk has been invalid for nearly a decade and was added when alt genera were split regardless
And this
Saurophaganax is way more deserving of keeping its name than Urgunaaluk btw
and it'll actually have a different design than Allosaurus
as long as the design is good and the name isn't egregious
I'm fine with whatever
having Saurophaganax or Ugrunaaluk is fine
but then if we got something like Dynamosaurus as a rex alt
then I'd be asking questions
i dont get the big deal over what its named
Allosaurus anax or Saurophaganax it's still the same animal at the end of the day
Utahraptor would be so tough
Utahraptor is confirmed
Some of its arm art was posted by Mau once
Yee it’s theorized for update 20
*19
im just going to ask you because you seem well knowledgeable on the community
But yes
Yup only 3 updates left
so will dinosaurs be able to break out?
Yes
dude im so excited
damn bro im just dying of joy today 🥹
https://trello.com/b/JAp8HMuy/prehistoric-kingdom-public-roadmap this will answer most of your questions
Organize anything, together. Trello is a collaboration tool that organizes your projects into boards. In one glance, know what's being worked on, who's working on what, and where something is in a process.
YES THERE IS A TRELLO
Pretty good way to figure what's coming
THANK YOU MAN
For things not in the Trello there's a couple of blurred teasers of the game's roadmap and a confirmed DLC about recently extinct animals
oooooo sick
Here are the blurred teasers and our guesses as what they are
okay lemme read up
From what we know the blurred roadmap might be entirely correct
Everything has been right so far
are red the correct guesses
Yeah
Confirmed animals if i'm not mistaken
wait i thought we alr had oviraptor
right okay
The image is old so something like Utah isn't listed as confirmed
i guessed so bc of stegosaurus
Oviraptor was originally coming in update 19
ahhh okay
U19 fit merged with 15
ahhh but they changed it
mk mk
So we do have Ovi
Yeah, that's why u20 used to be a thing
i dont recognize some of those species so ima do some googlin rq
What's now u19 was once u20
the roadmap predictions haven't been wrong so far
that would be sickkkk
right
oh wait
that means pachycephalosaurus has been confirmed
that cool
i wonder what kind of design they will be going for
Ancient Proto-whale
right
jeez they were tiny fellas
in comparison to a whale ofc
kelenken would be scary
Oh and ig for the Post-EA roadmap Bison is soft-confirmed
how so?
It's not blurred
deinotherium will be the cenozoic equivalent of plateosaurus for me
(used in every one of my parks)
I haven't got a creature I use in all of my parks
mainly because I suck at finishing them
my parks are usually small because ive noticed i struggle at spacing them out alot
that and i mainly just want to take pictures
haha yeah
30 species is something I've figured out as a good maximum
22 is the minimum for 5 stars though
once u17 releases I want to make an all coastal species park but I might bend that slightly
my main park rn is uh
torvos
plateo ts
paracers, forgot which species
edmonto annectens
pelte and tiktaalik vivs
since I do really like stuff like Velociraptor and Plateosaurus
currently my most used are Juxia, Sinotherium, P. gracilis, P. sp and Acro
which says a lot about how far I usually get into my parks
I think if I just start and stop a park whenever I get burnt out I should avoid getting unhappy with it
im surprised i havent used rex or acro much, they're 2 of my favorite theropods
If ambulo and deino get added I'm gonna put them in every park I make in one way or another
DEVS
GIVE ME U17 UTAHRAPTOR
AND MY LIFE IS YOURS
I might even build entire buildings to house them like I do with pretty much every other species
U(17)tahraptor
So cool
frugivore Utahraptor
A little fruit
As a treat
we do
HONESTLY
mfw ornithomimus is in post-EA ideas but dimetrodon isn’t
Dimetrodon is confirmed.
Weird looking bird
soo prettyyyyy
Not having something as iconic as dimetrodon in EA feels weird tbh
Imagining a zookeeper messing around with one the same way they do in those tiger videos
omg that would be fucking hilarious
Or hyenas
It's a great spearhead for the first update
I would expect It on u20
True I guess
i hope when they add casualties in U18 the zoo keepers can be mauled
it sounds psychotic
but hear me out
That’s the plane
*plan
it PISSEES me off
that they can just go up to a feeder
with a trex
right next to them
I get that
In some cases you can just go up to a Tiger and feed it
I wish there was like, a hight based feeder
Where you could drop food in from a elevation
right maybe they could build bonds
Don't see why a Rex wouldn't be the same, i just doubt It would be done due to crushing risks
i hope they change how terrain works aswell
it's kinda impossible to build caves
yeah
i guess i know what you mean
Oh yeah 3d terrain editing is my #1 most wanted feature
but i feel like if a female t rex saw me within a 100 meter radius of their kid
id be food
honestly
It's a chore to build them with rocks and when doing Big ones they tend to look off
especially for like underground stuff
The terrain is pretty good currently but yeah some updates would rule
yeah
I’ve found a pretty good way to make pit enclosures myself
i also hope they change how the painting works
because i have to spend like 20 minutes making sure the grass doesn't leach out of the containment
im listening
I’m sure something like a exhibit limited paintbrush wouldn’t be too hard
I have a preset on the workshop that works pretty consistently from what I’ve found
yeah
If you look closely it is clear this list includes either animals from OG 50 or these which could reuse rig
okay
So it makes more sense for ornithomimus to be there than dimetro
I gtg but I’ll get back you on that
such a pretty design
alr ttyl
/e wave
or this one
oh my oh myu
utahraptors 😍
I've heard things
Cortylorhynchus for obvious reasons
Prionosuchus
Do you think the holotype isn’t dubious?
Pachycephalosaurus & Stygimoloch (with Dracorex as the growth stage of both species)
Dracorex is a growth stage of P. spinifer
I'm not in the mood to find out if can get kicked off the patreon, but I will say they aren't monkeys
Probably pachycephalosaurus or some other
Wyoming and spinnifer my beloved
I do like saurians pachy tho
What does that mean
Saurian's desing
Wouldn't mind that type of tail on a skin
Probably not
wdym
Right here
This
Ty
Paleosiwina would be cool
correct with asterisks
all the stuff on there has been included but theres been additions and reshuffling
as an example, more stuff was added to U16, and the original U19 with Oviraptor and Breeding was added to U15
In the second image... if that is correct, I wouldnt be mad at all
I would be, no Cotylorhynchus
Oh shit
ALBERTOSAURUS
!!!!

better have a gorgo alt
The PK team seems to prioritize alt genera as mostly being species that were once lumped or are otherwise taxonomically debated
For example, Tarbosaurus is sometimes thought to be a Mongolian species of Tyrannosaurus, thus Tyrannosaurus bataar
Brontosaurus has been intertwined for a long time with Apatosaurus
etc
So considering how Albertosaurus libratus is sometimes argued for, Gorgosaurus is a prime candidate to be an alt genus with Albertosaurus
This was a bigger thing towards the beginning
Obviously still happens but its not as strong an indicator as it was around the original EA launch
actually what was the most recent alt added
I dont even remember bro
Bronto right?
Bronto
Yeah but the only alt genera to push the envelope have been mammals. Juxia and Sinotherium aren't intertwined with their parent species much
ye Sino and Juxia dont follow the trend
but generally with dinosaurs that trend is correct
Dino taxonomy is also just handled differently
And next update we're getting Saurophaganax... I know Allosaurus maximus has been a suggestion for a while, and it was technically vindicated with Allosaurus anax
So that's probably part of it
true
also that actually gives me a science question
and taxonomy question
like just take lion skeleton and tiger skeleton right
and thats all we have
It probably has something to do with the fact that usually only the taxonomically-debated dinosaur species bear a close enough resemblance to the parent species to actually be an alt
would we put them in the same genus, same species, or different genus if we held them to the same standard of dinosaur remains
just based on the bones and we know nothing else like how we do
Depends on the researcher frankly lol
General consensus would probably end up as separate sp in the same genus
Skeletally lions and tigers are extremely similar
but I feel like in some dinosaur remains that ive seen, individual skeletal variation is way more than the difference of lions and tigers skeletally
However if we had complete skeletons they have key differences
but then again that could also just be a reptile thing
idk
Edmontonia + Denversaurus is another alt combo with some weight to it, since Edmontonia schlessmani is one name that's been thrown around like in the late 80s
like not nessecarily even like size but just general shape
Now they're in separate genera, but Denversaurus meets the same "criteria" as the other alt genera
also I think another part of it is we in no way hold extinct genera to the same standard as living ones
^
there are tiny fossil mammal genera that have a 40 million year long existence
I mean genera are mostly subjective to an extent
Absolutely
P much yeah
definitely
species are usually a lot more concrete in their time and localities
but genera are just all over the place
or like
arthropleura as an example
we have two members of arthropleuridae
2 genera
one of them is basically just a tiny "regular" millipede from the devonian
and then arthropleura has like 8 species over 40 million years
Panthera leo and Panthera tigris are just as much as different species as they would be if we had like, Panthera leo and Borealotherium tigris or whatever
for all internsive purposes I guarentee if we could see those in the flesh, they would 100% be different genera
only once you get to the second half of the cenozoic does stuff generally start to more closely mirror how we do modern taxonomy
of living and pleistocene animals
As we get closer to the modern era, the remains we find are generally higher quality and quantity
Arthropleura is definitely overlumped, but I also think dinosaurs tend to be oversplit to an extent
Which helps greatly for genus and sp level recognition on our part
Dinosaurs are probably overlumped if anything
It depends on the dinosaur tbh
I mean just based on the very nature of paleontology and fossil deposition
I would say that generally speaking if its from two seperate formations it would almost certainly not be considered the same species if we could see them in the flesh
unless from pretty much the exact same geological time
I'm not saying every dinosaur should be as speciose as like psittacosaurus
My ideal way of tackling the overlumping issue as a person completely uninvolved in paleo as a career is to focus on the "original" specimens
or hell even within the same formation if the time gap is long enough
So for example, Ornithomimus was first found and named from rocks in the Denver Formation of Colorado, which puts it at a Lancian faunal stage and therefore a contemporary of the Hell Creek gang
But there's an abstract (eventually a paper) covering cryptic sp from Dr. Napoli that talks about up to 8 more species of Velo just from what we've dug up out of Mongolia
You'd be correct because that's how diagnoses are formed
You have to use the original specimen to inform taxonomic relations of others
So for PK I'd suggest Ornithomimus velox to be treated as a Hell Creek animal essentially, even though some fossils imply the genus is 10 million years old and lived in the Campanian
Napoli talks about this in detail on the Skeleton Crew video the other day about Stygivenator
But some dinosaurs being overlumped doesn't mean a few others aren't oversplit
But overall Ornithomimids of north america are a taxonomic nightmare
For no good reason lol
Just a history of bad descriptions and assignments
North american troodontids suffer similarly
I think Napoli does some pretty good work, and he did a great job at grabbing the Nanotyrannus mess and completely untangling it with definitive data to prove it's a distinct species... with that said, I am not so sure about his data regarding dromaeosaur species
Sure but speaking on a general level its far more common to be overlumped
Napoli has in the past used a matrix that recovers Balaur and Deinonychus as nested within the Mongolian velociraptorines. I'm crossing my fingers that 8 different species under the Velociraptor genus is not the result obtained from using this matrix
He really needs to update it LOL
I don't think you should be evaluating the worth of a paper on a matrix not designed for it
Beelzebufo
that's the over sized
Depends on the baby sauropod
Rapetosaurus isn't very large
Not to say the art isn't oversized ftr
Beelze is "only" about the size of the largest modern frogs at best
the most frequent size comparison ive seen is it's approximately the size of the living chilean helmeted bullfrog
Calyptocephalella is a genus of frogs in the family Calyptocephalellidae. It is represented by a single living species, Calyptocephalella gayi, commonly known as the helmeted water toad, Chilean helmeted bull frog, or wide-mouthed toad. Additionally, there are a few extinct species that are only known from Late Cretaceous and Paleogene fossil re...
This with a larger head seems about right
Did we always know it was that large and there was widespread ignorance, or was there an official downsizing?
I think it was official but
I’ve had an extremely hard time FINDING that article
There’s also an even larger frog from the Eocene, from this family
But it isn’t described so
Probably not gonna get into PK anytime soon
Quick research indicate Initially it was bunch of fragmentary bones with animal reconstruction being based on paraguayan horned frog
But with time and more found remains it turned out beelzebufo is really weird with head making up half of animal size
Proportionally more similar to brazilian horned frog, which is now modern base for reconstructions
Looking at this, I'm excited to think that there will probably be five new species of Proboscidea added, including alternative species.
This list of Proboscidea is already sufficient, but if we were to add two more, I personally think it would be perfect if there were two more species a primitive elephant like Moetherium and a unique elephant like Platybelodon.
I really hope it’s Gigantoraptor that’s my 2nd favorite dino
More Jurassic era amphibians for the vivariums
Do you have examples?
