Smart Groups and references

Goal, not possible with weakaras.

Weakauras is not a unit frame add-on. It doesn't do all the work a unit frame add-on does.
Creating unit frames for groups need specific functions and templates.

In addition weakaras is not made to handle secure frames. It will break if you attach secure frames to auras. It will break horribly if you do so on cloning auras because the frames get reused.

I'm already doing this with player and target, so far nothing has broken, so the "risk" is fine by me.
I just want to know if I can reference a unit being create by smart groups.

I used to do this but would just create party1, 2, 3 and so on - using smart groups seemed nice for just havng to define the template once 🙂

and you will polute the clone pool if you try to force that anywhere. a poluted clone pool means that you attach secure frames to all your cloning auras. which means that basically all dynamic groups and cloning auras break completely.
