I would like to have a small text beside my targeted nameplate that indicates how far away I am from my target and if I can hit it. I play MM hunter so the range might change depending on the amount of mastery I have. Just using one skill like arcane shot to check range would work I think. I simply have no idea how to show the range as text using WA.

Use the spell cooldown as trigger and then a condition for spell in range

But how can I show text that says something like "23 yards"?

it won't show you exact range and you can't reliably know exact ranges that far out

you can know if you're in range or not reliably but not the exact range
