#Creating a Timer after a trigger is activated
49 messages · Page 1 of 1 (latest)
If you're using a combat log trigger you can just set the trigger time to 20 sec.
Depends on the type of trigger you're using on how you set it up
so im using an Aura-Party-Debuff aura since I need to specify group role as "Healer" because the dr i want to track is my healer's. Is it possible to make another combat log trigger and connect it to my Aura-Party-Debuff trigger for timing?
Or is there a way I can set the timer just using my current trigger?
aura triggers track time left on the buff/debuff for their time you can't change that. Use a combat log trigger for Cast Success on the spell that you want to trigger it and set the timer to 20 sec
oh ok, doing it right now. so do I put in source reaction: hostile if I want to track the cc on my healer?

So this is what I made so far, but Im not sure if it's going to work. Im going to test it right now. Basically trigger 1 is the combat log with the timer and cc and trigger 2 is the Aura debuff party healer specified and both triggers have to work if it's going to show the text
So it does everything right except after the cc ends, the whole text disappears. It starts off with a 20 sec countdown but disappears after the cc duration ends
you can't use activation all otherwise when trigger2 buff goes away so will the aura
use Any trigger
nicee that fixed it!
the buff part shouldn't even be necessary
oh ok so I can remove trigger 2?
maybe it's giving you icon information
you should be able to remove trigger 2 and it will still be active for 20 sec after the ability is cast yes
you might have to specify an icon for it
ah ok, but if I need to track it on my healer, can I put trigger 2 party debuff, then put the role as healer?
trigger 2 has no effect on trigger 1
if you want to specify your healer then you need to do it in trigger 1
ah ok
would need to set dest or source whichever is relevant for the spell
ie- if your healer is casting the spell then it would be source.
if your healer is the target it would be dest
you dont need source reaction if that isn't relevant
if you only care about the destination
destination unit, then specific unit as w/e my healer is?
ok yea i just need to know if they're in a polymorph, cyclone, etc
the dr for that
Destination unit then smart group or party
what is smart group? i've seen it but not sure what it does
applies to everyone in your raid/party/self
using the correct context based on what kind of party you are in
oh ok
is there a way i can keep my healer always in party2? i think edit mode has filter by role but not sure if it keeps it consistent or random
if you use specific unit you would have to specifiy like party2 but you can't guarantee that your healer will always be party2 unless you're doing 2v2 arena
yea
oh ok, i guess i just have to specify it before the arena starts
why not track it on both party members?
i have diminish addon for that but it's not that customizable and doesn't come in text form, it comes as an icon
