I'd like my bar of utility spells seen in the WA settings in pic 1 to grow up, starting from that location where the arrow is, but it seems to grow somewhere off screen, and I can't see it unless I pop a ton of buffs

Your Utility group should be a Dynamic group with Dynamic Group Settings>Grow set to Up and Space set to something less than 10.
If you're still having problems you'll need to link what you have

woot it's almost perfect! just a small space in between some of the buffs... is there a way to fix that? not sure what that little odd space there is, but it's already so much better, ty

WeakAuras doesn't show anything by default, it's just the framework that lets you import or create "Auras" to display things. If you're having an issue with an Aura, and/or want opinions on it, then you need to share the specific Aura. The best way to do this is to link it through https://wago.io/.
If you only imported the aura, you may right click the aura in-game and select Copy URL and paste it here. If you have modified the aura or created your own, you may instead select Export to string... and upload the string to https://wago.io/. This does not require an account.
You can now paste the import string directly into Discord (with no other text, only the string) and a bot will import it for you and link the wago.

yeah im not sure. it's possible the options from the original aura has some settings that are changing something. You could try deleting the options aura because I'm not having the same problem as you

it looks like an empty icon is getting added to the list it's possible steel trap is triggering from something but doesn't have an icon
