I imported a weakaura that by default has "Send fake events instead of STATUS events" enabled. The weakaura is for status text on the target. I am however uncertain of what this accomplishes. I have no idea what it is and I wonder if there is any advantage of one or the other.

As a user this doesn't matter its purely for authors of custom auras

Don't change the setting though or your aura might stop working

I've changed some settings. Mostly I removed a "k" from a text string and changed some position and anchor settings. But I assume this doesn't matter?

Changing position/lanchor settings and modifying display text shouldn't be an issue

Don't mess around with that STATUS event setting though. WeakAuras recently changed how custom status triggers are updated when initially loaded, and lots of auras still rely on the old behaviour. So it's nothing you should be touching
