During the planning and pitching execs were too cautious about it failing and just wanted to copy something else that is an established success (Fall/Stumble Guys) without really taking any "risks" even when it comes to things that are Sonic's core identity (like speed, coolness, skills etc.). Even down to the aesthetic and the character proportions

Then as the betas went on they probably received a lot of feedback that people want those things (and I bet you they received feedback that it's boring after a while)

Which led to them being like ok maybe we can actually take the "risk" of making it more like Sonic

Unfortunately for them, the industry isn't really fair when it comes to stuff like this. Yeah, Stumble Guys can be a cheap knock-off that capitalizes on looking like Roblox and make millions, but that doesn't mean that just copying it will work for Sonic.

I’m guessing they’re going to try to add more game modes into it or change up the progression? Not sure why they need to put it offline for that, Rumble was still active when they made similar changes. Are the changes going to be that big?

And ngl I don’t think Blitz is going to add inactive characters, Archie, old 90s cartoons and allat. I don’t think it’s happening. It’s most likely just IDW and Prime, maybe movie too

1- I hope they remodel everyone from scratch to actually have a somewhat unique style for the game

2- If they want this thing to have any chance of succeeding, they need to do what every other successful trading card game does and hire artist to draw the card art and really go hard on the card designs

Small but important personal update: after 1.5 years on @Sonic_Rumble, leading the game to its Global Launch and through several awesome crossover events, I’ve decided to explore new opportunities, which means my time at @Rovio and @SEGA is coming to an end soon.

I want to thank the community and the Sonic fandom for their dedication. Working on Sonic was a huge privilege. Thank you to everyone who played the game, shared feedback, and supported the community.

There are some legit, exciting beats ahead for Sonic Rumble, and the team has really worked hard on these. I’m genuinely excited for you and the community about what’s coming next.
