To tie this to speculation though. I dont think there will ever be day to day sort of events festivals that arent tied to something specific that ever matters to the characters. At least in a sonic game. Spin offs like crossworlds obviously ymmv. But i feel as though for the most part theres a sort of timelessness that atp point desire to their own detriment. Despite wanting to do more substantive stories. Other characters or sections of the lore can be given that grace but for the classic crew, they have (untill the films dictate otherwise) exist in a stasis.

I do think a good expansion to frontiers formula from a narrative stand point i feel is simply having the characters already at locations doing stuff outside of what sonic and whomever is doing that you can use as vector for expansion. Which seems simple, some might say basic. But the bar for sonic is in hell, so babies first npc's that matter is something we have to get through.

I think the sonic and any discussion is fascinating because it hits at the home at many a fans frustration with the static nature of some of these characters, with their other functions as corperate mascots along with sonic team's own internal desires.

My own speculation is, maybe its a hope or even just cope atp. But if character do get spin offs , apparences there might not be obligated to be as static. Might, anyway

From what I can find there’s been no confirmed timeframe just that they’re in the works

But a collab Adira did leak and should be super soon is Space Jam

Given Pimlico (the Fall Guys basketball mode that’s about to be added like next update) has/had Warner Bros involvement
