'New' or 'tweaked' models for the next game is defineitly possible, it's just a matter of if they'll stick for the long haul/not be an exception of art stylization for a specific means.
Cause we got a lot of ground to cover for a general overhaul and newly purposed CG models that would have to follow afterwards.
Unless some models just stick and other ones don't, but I think that would be very half assed.
