I think that if sonic does have any romantic feelings, it won’t be so ‘said and done’ or straight forward as much as some may think it’ll be.

for all the differences sonic himself has, the dynamics he has with just about every other character from the games is fairly intact + SEGA has a good working relationship with the writers/creatives, in saying what is required or not meant to be under their minimal specifications.

I don’t think it’s impossible, IF the movie were either split in two parts or it’s a long ass movie.

I say that mostly because time travel can be a very finnicky plot device & establishing it off the back with damn near riffing off of what endgame did in that manner- something the writers didn’t even want to do in sonic 2, when they were simply concepting the idea of having sonic & tails go on a fetch quest for the emeralds, because of not wanting to step on the heels of endgame.

BUT, I think there’s room for originality in there in a modified outline of that concept

so that it isn’t to similar.

maybe it’s been far out enough to not make the plot feel derivative or copy cat-ish to audiences.

I watched PHM today, and what a phenomenal film it was. Really emotional and such a visual spectacle. I also saw this infront of it. This was the first actual teaser for Sonic 4.

If it keeps its date, we'll likely see the first full trailer sometime around September - October.

maybe not a hint, it's just my idea that in Sonic 4, Sonic will not be much with Tails and Knuckles, they spent 2 and 3 being a team, so it's clear as I said in the past, 4 focuses on Sonic and Amy

Tails and Knuckles I could see doing something else, and then all four team up in the final battle

And of course, Shadow should barely appear to set up his own movie

thinking about the teaser again, the focus on the emeralds and the general cracking glass motif going on at the start/end

in an interview with Tyson/the movie writers before 3 dropped they mentioned considering an emerald-finding plot but scrapped the idea (and stuck all the emeralds in the M.E) cos it was too similar to infinity war/the infinity stones, plus the worry of it being too rinse-repeat to do it for all seven emeralds

I wonder if they’re revisiting that idea, both cos it’s been more time since infinity war for the dust to settle but also cos the cast is a lot bigger now so they can send folks off in different directions to get emeralds and regroup at the end

(similar to the metal virus now I think of it)

The one of sa2 arc could work but Sonic looks more pissed at having to save Amy rather than pissed that Eggman got her and hurted her

Like I think it could work if Sonic was more urgent or distressed on his reaction once Amy is injured due to Eggman, kinda like Loki in Infinity War

(and yes, Sonic has shown more alert in situations where Amy is in danger so this would still be in character for this version of the character)

Jim Carrey was the best part of Sonic 3, I'm glad they use him so well in both 2 and 3, in different creative ways and you can tell he had a lot of fun, like having chaos powers, piloting a giant mech with magic energy basically, playing 2 characters and breaking the fourth wall

I'm also glad that all of the game characters here feel "real" not because this is live action but because the stories are a lot more personal here, the main characters do not feel "static" like in the games, these are movies after all

I particularly love Sonic 3 besides Shadow's arc, because it was more action packed and more animated as everyone said, they wanted the human element and they doubled on Jim Carrey here, not sure what they will do for 4, but as the producer Tim Miller said, they are getting more and more animated, so we will see more CGI characters hopefully, and I would like CGI worlds too... pleaaaase

Like, Rockwell sucked in Sonic 3, but I think it was for a greater good, like reducing most of the screentime for boring human plots, and it worked, still I hope she is in the Shadow movie, don't get rid of Krysten Ritter, and also spin offs are made to go deep with minor characters, so why not

Wacky Racers movie, that's all you gotta do for the baseline pitch of that kind of story.

In movie 4, I think we're really in need of an agent of change for the world/formula we've worked under for the past 3 movies.

Which it seems that this is maybe the right place to do it with the prospect of time travel & worlds, etc, etc.

A theory I read online that would really make me excited is that the "darkest timeline" in Sonic 4 actually begins at the end of Sonic 2, where Eggman succeeds in killing Sonic before he turns Super

and thus conquers the world, goes even more insane and replaces Sonic with Metal Sonic
