The Knuckles, Tails, Stone, and Shadow secondary plot thing is starting solidify in my mind now.
For a few reasons
During press for 3, Idris & Keanu' pitched having those two interact more or do something together more frequently.
Lee pitched that Tails interaction, and now that's become a highlight for fans/watchers after the fact.
These sonic films, if nothing else, take notice of what their creatives showcase and what the fans like. So I don't think it's a stretch for them to implement both of those aspects here.
I THINK, I am SPITBALLING, that this is the move.
