Because sonic 3's post credit scene is the first one where they actively show sonic interacting with the character for the next installment/tie it to the narrative.

So if that is the case, I'm thinking that sonic 4 is gonna have to show where Amy came from in the intro.

That or they could retcon it as another race that sonic and his friends just happened to have on another day lol

Abe: We were basically planning to use the assets provided, but Marza ended up producing Amy's hammer at short notice. Initially, it was produced by an overseas studio, but after receiving feedback from Director Jeff and Ged Wright, the film's overall VFX SV, Marza ended up handling everything from design to the production of the final model. The hammer that was first provided had a fairly "aggressive" design, with a shape that looked like it could take off like a rocket. However, Director Jeff felt that this was too much, and instructed us to change it to a "more subdued direction." So, Marza's Art SV, Umeda Toshiya, took the lead in reducing the visual tone and brushing it up. The final hammer asset was completed and incorporated into the shot around August. It was an unexpected response, but the whole team worked together and we managed to get it done in time.

And that these films are very much so an collaborative process; and it can't just be boiled down to simply "Jeff's vision".

Good job SEGA, if you are playing your cards (sorry for pun) correctly, we may avoid another Boom Amy situation where she was aggressive, tough and a jerk

I like that Amy is cute and quirky and social, along with her temper

I don't want Amy to be a bossy character for the sake of being too mature and independent, but the movie crew has proven to be capable of getting the characters right

with the coordination with SEGA, it's going to be faithful I think

but it also depends on what SEGA is going for with her character at the moment

at the same time, I did like that the first glimpse of what they showed of her was saving Sonic

That and I tend to refer too the woman characters we have established so far in the films; and they're pretty fun in their own ways.

But still, even then. Unique/different in her own right.

I just can't see them missing on the opportunity of Amy being bubbly & also fierce, in what is still a family comedy.

If Dr. Robotnik ends up coming back for movie 4, then that will mean that he will not only have taken the role of the most impactful death/sacrifice in the climax of SA2, but also be doing the exact same thing Shadow did by coming back immediately in the next game

I don't think it will take away from the moment in the movie because the execution in that story matters more, but it is funny to think about after people were worried about the same thing from Shadow's side of the isle

He is basically if you combine Robotnik with Ultron

They could say that, at some point, Robotnik downloaded his mental patterns and capacities onto a computer and from there it built a new body

This is just me brainstorming though

I think there’s an slight overreaction to that Pat Casey and Josh Miller interview about them saying that if Jim Carrey doesn’t want to spin the block a fourth time, they’ll solidify that eggman actually died in that installment.

That and I think it’s a relatively reasonable outlook from a creative team standpoint.

It’s not like we’re void of any narrative options if it does become the case that he isn’t interested.

That and I’m 80% sure he’s coming back anyway, despite what he said about retirement. What he then went on to call a power break. Dude isn’t shy about saying how much he loves the crew on the films and the material and so on, and he doesn’t have much else to do these days anyway.

I think as long as they don’t have him do the same thing/same presentation twice, he’s down for whatever.

1 was a dickhead/quirky scientist. 2, a more manic’ mad scientist with a god complex. 3, being washed up/directionless to an fawning grandson along with being the grandfather at the same time..
