Creativity is what I meant. Because....well, when all you have to your name in recent memory is Live Action Remakes that don't add anything to the source material that couldn't be done in the past...then it isn't a remake. It's just the same thing in a fresh coat of paint.

Now, a remaster is just fine. In fact, the earlier the film was made, say Cinderella in 1950, got only some touchups her and there.

The earlier the film, the much more likely it deserves a remaster. Do not Remake unless you can bring something to the table that you couldn't in the past.

I still say Chris is bit overhated, but Tom is easily Sonic's best human companion

This made me think a bit and honestly I think Chris' general reception comes from two factors:

• He isn't kicked down hard enough narratively wise
• He doesn't do enough to stand-out and deserve our respect

For the first point, think characters like Naruto, Peter Parker and that sort of thing who are often in very hard predicaments in all areas

Like having his parents be consistently busy is a big problem but it isn't enough in an engaging sense. After all. Helen in her episode had a similar issue with her father being often busy and yet she's far better received just by virtue of her discapacity

The second point is more so how what he does isn't radical enough to get our respect

Like Tom for example he was willing to get all his life in peril just to protect Sonic in the first movie

so even if he doesn't have a backstory, he still earns our respect by how commited he is to do what he thinks is right
