Story time

When I was like 10 or so I went with my family to watch The Three Musketeers, it was my first movie in 4DX so I was very eager to test it out. It went horrible.

The seats are constantly shaking so one of those made me get hurted when I was drinking my soda, there was a moment with rain so the front seats throw water that got into my eyes, sometimes light pop which blinded me for a moment, etc.

So my family and me, while we enjoyed the movie, did not like 4DX whatsoever so we never came to it ever again.

The problem the writing of the Sonic movies always posed is the same potential effect that bumblebee's quips in TFO's trailers had, where they're potentially offputting enough to drive fans/prospective viewers away even when paired with the more serious advertisements. But if Sonic does actually have this problem, (ignoring the fandom because ngl it is cooked) it would have been happening for so long alongside a decently sized audience who doesn't mind it/goes to see it anyways, that it's made essentially invisible

Though I'm also not surprised the discourse on social media possibly devolved into "Sonic doesn't make quips like this!" "What are you saying, Sonic always makes quips!" back and fourth if the previous messages are anything to go by
