Wrinkle switch was on, color grading was off, and the lack of the same animators from movie 1 going into movie 2.

Said animators being interns and juniors, getting right into MPC through an opened application to the public mind you.

Then covid came in. And a mass majority were working at home, so.
Only so many tweaks and polish can be done, without it being in-house.

But all things considered, it isn't abysmal. We haven't reached FLASH bad, even with those obstacles I can say lol

Wrinkles be damned at times, but he's gotten back into a more recognizable/appealing shape if we're going by Knuckles at least.

Plus we know Sonic and Eggman team up too at some point, don't forget, if it's in the teaser it won't be at the end of the movie||

Yeah, you kinda have to be when discussing it when you're in a fanbase that tends to gaslight themselves into believing they've changed/made a whole new model due to simple rigging changes or pipelines.

For movie 3, I can at least let it slide for like..narrative purpose of following the trios since they’re like..now established protectors, and overcoming this big obstacle that’s testing them, after they came together in movie 2. That’s just trilogy synergy writing, and I can deal with it just being them as they’re all highlighted.

Yet the films work off the fact that characters like Sonic are abnormal, and the government just..doesn’t fuck with them like that.

Even with my gripes with Sonic 2, the goal was reached in using the movie as an introduction/background of Tails & Knuckles simultaneously, if to unbalanced results. Which is why I think they’re holding off the concept of doing shadow’s story, along with them probably planning on having some kind of background for Amy & Rouge as well.

The movies are primed on doing that, since movie 1, of just..expanding more or at least touching on where they come from and stuff.
With Shadow being so beefy as THE center character of lore in the franchise. I get it.

And considering Rouge’s story/circumstances probably won’t transpire in the movie, just due to how Knuckles is living, how the master emerald is handled, how the government is established..
I think both of them would have to be introduced in something that can really cater to them, like how this film is catered to Shadow or Sonic 2 was catered to Knuckles, ya know?

Here Shadow's origin is tied to Earth so... I think this movie will not have any of that trope "aliens coming to Earth"

Even Though Rouge could have been lurking on the planet since this is kind of her thing

I will say though Shadow has a lot of story, and it needs a lot of time to be told, so this may be why there aren't other major game characters here

And the ugly: the writers seriously hinted they would have liked to include Amy and Rouge at various points, they said it, if either aren't in this one, they were planned but cut, sadly, for either story or budget reasons

My personal thoughts on this weekend’s update.

For me, this was the worst update I’ve personally experienced for Sonic Speed Simulator. Historically, I’ve been very adamant about any sort of gambling elements being linked to obtaining skins. I was very vocal when there were exclusive skins present in the Spin Wheel, but I find today’s additions to be significantly more egregious and predatory.

Up until today, I’ve generally had respect for this game’s monetization practices. The gamepasses and premium pets made sense to me. The bundles and podiums make sense, especially with trading existing. Heck, once they started tossing Spins into Adventures and the Race Shop, I’d even say that both the free Spin Wheel and the Legendary Spinner are fair enough ways to monetize. I really respected that, while there were premium buy-ins for many things in the game, you could obtain every playable character and skin for free, as long as you showed up for each update and were willing to complete the grind for unlocking the skins. To me, the character collection felt sacred, and any time there’s been any sort of design change that put this aspect of the game in jeopardy, it’s been spoken out against.

With this update, I no longer feel that the game has that major aspect that I respected it for. Encouraging players to gamble Robux for limited quantity skins (otherwise, they can only hatch two worse eggs a day), feels like a huge step in the wrong direction, and causes this game to fall into many of the same predatory trappings that cause me to deeply hate games like Pet Simulator 99, which is unbelievably disappointing for me as I have had endless amount of faith, respect, and love for this game and those who work on it. Seeing it go down this route after avoiding it for so long is heartbreaking. I will be honest and say that it’s left me personally debating whether or not I wish to continue playing and supporting this game, but that is something to decide for myself, so I will not go into my reasons for that here.

Anyway, Summer Silver and Summer Blaze are some of the best looking skins in the game, so, thank you Strike for your fantastic work once again.
