And wanted me to see Vanilla take her by the hand and teach her that what she was doing is associated with stalking and domestic violence

Therapy is the most logical in canon explanation behind her flandarization in that era. You don’t realize how severe the criticism was for Amy back then. And I do want her and Sonic to be a thing, and to me, therapy is the best explanation behind Amy’s sudden shift in character. I’m autistic, and as a kid, I was surrounded by other kids who had temper problems and got carried to jail.

It’s kind of important I see Amy get that therapy, so I’ll be sure that she doesn’t engage in her temper again and hurt Sonic

That's a very extreme example of something that may not even happen in this franhise. Amy's fine now and I don't think they need therapy for it. It is just a matter of balancing the writing she gets better, and Ian Flynn and Evan Stanley had shown to be able to write Amy with her best traits without the worse of it.

But this is something I always wanted to see. In that era, Amy bullied and threatened children, and abused and threatened the life of HER OWN HERO to her own delight. And they expected us to take it like a light joke. And then certain fans wonder why people call Amy a stalker. In certain instances you could argue it could be justified, others…it just creates a nasty picture, and I don’t want to see Sonic beaten mercilessly by his significant other. I care about him, and I care for Amy

Which is why I want this to happen. To provide that transition from the Amy we had then to the Amy we have now. It’s really important for the overall narrative. This could speak to certain kids who behave exactly like Amy.

Many people out there are asking “why are Sonic and Amy suddenly good friends now” and I want to provide that explanation for them.

I mean in Black Knight, Sonic was about to turn tail in fear at the sight of Nimue, and considering everything we saw from Amy in the series up to that point, who could blame him?

It said a lot about how he viewed Amy. And I kind of felt really sorry that he saw Amy that way, that he felt about Amy that way. And then you consider them best friends. We’re really going to sweep that under the rug?

Because that reaction is exactly why a lot of people have problems with Sonic and Amy as a couple, like SEGA intends us to view them as. Why Amy gets a negative reputation that we all are still smelling the stench from to this very day. It’s why any Sonamy fan artist will likely get harassed, just like Kohane.

And Sonic avoiding Amy doesn’t spell friendship, nor does Sonic openly being dismissive of Amy’s feelsings. And SOnic is all about friendship, which comes from treating others the way you want to be treated. Amy was NEVER treated as Sonic’s friend, just a nuisance he had to avoid or rescue.

Honestly, I prefer the Colors era over that 2000s Dark Age in general

I got into Sonic through the Genesis games and AOSTH as a very young child. Sonic X came on after. But I felt I still had the Genesis games like Sonic 1, 2, 3, and 3D Blast, so I still had that Sonic, and preferred that over what Sonic was evolving towards, some really dark gritty realistic anime crap

#

And AOSTH and SatAM proved to me Sonic was interested in girls, and could manage healthy relationships.

#

The “meta” era brought back Green Hill Zone, it brought Classic Sonic and he was 2D, it was so beautiful. Sure, it gave us Sonic the Hedgehog 4, and yeah, I admit, porting the Rush engine to a game like that did the game very wrong, but I appreciated the fact that it was bringing Sonic back to what I liked about him before in the old days, the checkerboard patters, the loop de loops, etc

And with that era came an Amy that was finally rid of those bad anime tropes that screwed her over, and was welcomed as an equal. Now, I finally got the appeal of Sonamy, and I liked it. We even got LEGO Dimensions Sonic which was a great DLC, even though I never played it

#

Just thought that you don’t want Sonamy and the characters to evolve and grow, that you want everything to be just like the adventure/dark era, when aspects like the gameplay and the characters were inconsistent

#

That you want Sonic to continue to neglect Amy and for Amy to beat him senseless and be flandarized, while sonic continues being a great friend to others, and leave

#

Now that I’ve seen Sonic and Amy get along on good terms, no violence or flirting or teasing involved, I now consider that old dynamic a complete waste of time

Eh..I mean, I just want certain aspects to be kept from that area but not all of it. Like I don't like Amy beating Sonic in general (even in Riders where she was justified to do so, that is just not my cup of tea) but people want to see an Amy with more energy and her bubbly side being prominent. This recent era has touched that area but it isn't quite there yet aside from TMOSTH and the IDW Amy anniversary comic.

It isn't like all Sonic fans want that back (I saw a some wanting that but I am not one by any means)

I don’t know even though some interactions in Sonic Frontiers base game made my stomach rumble upon intial playthrough, I overall appreciate the direction that they took with Amy in Frontiers and want that to definitely stay

I think it comes down to balance imo. Don’t waver to much on the aspects of her, it comes down to making her sweet, with a bit feisty energy. Both of which dip into one another, and should compliment one another. My headcanon is that Sonic’s of those upper class privileged popular guys who go to the country club and Amy is from the lower class, lives in a run down trailer, hence her poor social skills why she had those outbursts and clung onto Sonic like she did. Yeah, People seem to be jumping on the idea that some of these cast members are voicing characters, When we don't really know if they are playing a human role or voicing a character.

For example, Krysten Ritter, We don't know if her role is a human or voicing a character, There's no info to suggestion that she's voicing Rouge, That's something that IGN just came up with, So they are just assuming.

And people suggesting because of the roles she play, She would be Rouge.

#

She played Jessica Jones, Therefor she would be the type to play Rouge, Things like that.

I don't think they are gonna announce whose voicing Rouge, When Shadow is the more important announcement, If Rouge is in the movie, They should be tight lipped about that, If she appears in the movie, It should be as a surprise.

We haven't seen any set photo since they started filming, Only a few of them, But nothing significant, They shot most of the movie on a sound stage, Also take into account they shot a lot of the movie during the actor's strike, Since they only shot the CGI characters most of the time.
