I think I figured out why I love Boom and not the movieverse. With Boom, the show doesn’t fully rely on nostalgia baiting game elements to appeal to fans. It sells itself solely on its comedy and just write a show that can be fun for kids and adults.

The movieverse wants to do its own thing yet wants to also add game elements to it but in their own way, When they do that, I kinda just want the game interpretation instead. Like sure the subversion of some game stuff are cool and funny but over time, now I’m starting to think but that’s nothing like that thing. Why couldn’t they just make their own thing instead and more of their own elements and characters moreso.
