Anyway, I took a look at Chinese myths and stuff and found a myth about Gonggong - a god of water who caused a little apocalypse with flooding and stuff in ancient china, but god of fire defeated him. That’s how two main rivers in china were created.

Basically, I took that idea of a god of water, and included it in lmk storyline. Basically, Gonggong was reincarnated in the other body, a man named Kanji, a basic human with no powers and stuff, but with memories of his previous form. His main point of living on a new place became a restoration of everything his previous form did in the past life, that Gonggong caused an imbalance of good and evil in the universe that would collapse it in long term period. So, powers of controlling and generating water woke up in his body, and he started his path of reviving and trying to rebuild what his previous form destroyed, but Kanji just going to cause more destructions and pain for people who going to become close to him. He will try to rewrite the universe through an ancient artifact - a hourglass of time, which were destroyed by ancient gods, and grains of sand were spread across the world and universe, letting the time flow. Only someone like Kanji, with the power of ancient gods inside him, can gather them together through a strong flow of his magic and try to rewrite the universe. Wukong and MK are going to be his main Allies at first, because he will let them to do all dirty work with him through cunning stuff. Anyway, you got the main idea about his biography.

Talking about his appearance - it’s a long hair young man with classic Chinese style outfit, which has some metal elements of armor on his shoulders, secured with straps going through his chest. His main weapon is 9 section Chinese chain whip that he uses in combat, combining it with his water magic. As his Main abilities:

1. He can generate a large amount of water through his chain whip, control the pressure and temperature of water.
2. Creating water portals where he can disintegrate his body and basically teleport himself into another place through water
3. When he would gain a big amount of power, he can cause even floods and maybe tsunami if he would want to do it.

His story is going to be mostly about understanding of good and evil, that while you’re trying to do good you can create even more destructions under a fake motives. Mostly, I can call him “a time bomb”, because even if he’s going to be killed, after a big amount of time he’s gonna be recreated in another body, gonna try to do same thing all over and over again.

I honestly think it’s fitting for the direction the show is going in right now. It might be a bit too complex even though it stays true to the myth but with a bit of simplification it has the potential to be one of the best plotlines in fiction

Anyway, I think I have an idea for an ending of his character arc. After all what happened, world is half destroyed because of Kanji’s actions. He’s starting to rebuild the world through a sands of time which are combined into his water magic, but Wukong and MK gonna try to interrupt the process. The last fight happens, Kanji causes tsunami, and on the background of it they all are fighting. Everything is ending through a conversation of wukong with him, that Kanji didn’t want all of that but wanted to rebuild the balance of good and evil in the universe, but caused only more harm to the world itself. Then he asks Wukong to gain a sands of time and scatter them all across the universe so no one won’t use it again in any way. Then Kanji’s last request is goin to be to erase his memories about everything that happened and take his water powers so he won’t cause any more damage.

So, this story ends with Kanji, who became a basic person, living in megapolis as a master of martial arts, without any thought that he ever was a Demi-god and controlled the magic of water.

Any fan fiction is an elaboration of existing lore, so, I am as the writer, should elaborate it in the way of how I see it. Of course JTTW is still the main source of everything but, how I said, lmk is a storyline where all actions are happening. What I want to say that in the terms of “canonic” I meant not the development of characters from JTTW but my own which I described before. So, such fanfic should feels like DLC to a good game, like a Cyberpunk 2077 DLC Phantom Liberty or any Fallout game DLCs.

It shouldn’t add an existing type of info to the story we know but add smth new, smth that wasn’t talked about before

I’d say the OG is still amazing of the mechs from MK

Just from how it looks. The current is more tech based

Also yes I’d say the samurai mech is one of the best beside Zane’s Legacy mech

The knee element is what gives them the push being good with a good design but even without knee’s, both MK mech design are incomparable with any other mech in the theme or out of the theme

Personally i think there is general wave of too much mech going all through all the Lego themes and quite frankly it's overwhelming and stifles creativity. It's like there's a mech for almost everything now. The two Monkey King mechs that appeared were fine but i feel making a mech is now too random or lazy, we need fresh ideas!

I think since the theme is so popular in the East that they’re basically profiting from what the theme is known for best, the iconic Monkey King mechs, so they basically chibi-ified it which makes sense, especially for its 5th anniversary

It’s a shame not many people know how strong this theme is and how impactful it is from Asian heritage and also anime

The colors are vibrant and matching with the theme of the art style for the show. I’m amazed LEGO went for a 2D style for the show and the referencing from the book, Journey to The West is so close it shows how dedicated to Chinas story telling LEGO is.

The shows lacks a proper run time and is made for the Chinese audience so when it is dubbed into English, Americans are the last to receive it. If people understood where Monkey came from then I believe it would be more popular

Ninjago has the advantage of having longer consecutive run time and being an American show… eh for the most part.

We don’t even get monkey kid on shelves because LEGO didn’t market Monkey kid like they did with Ninjago in the US.

My opinion is that LEGO is the best way to play DnD for the sake of having something to look at and hold

Board games are fun for that and simple but DnD is complex with a lot to do and think. Giving it a 3D feel of play gives a better understanding of how to play DnD then without anything but paper and pen

Plus it’s the best way to express DnD

So big lore here but Wukong is kinda too OP to exist in our reality due to how Buddhism works. If anything in the show, what we see is an avatar of Wukong

Yep super OP! Hell he’s so immortal even the furnace didn’t do anything (minus his eyes). But theoretically, now that he has finished his journey making him A LOT more stable therefore he can exist in the lmk universe. We also have to consider though that 1.) jttw is NOT a good source for lmk lore, they changed the story and the relationships a lot. 2.) in basically EVERY adaptation Monkey King is a whole different character, so I don’t think avatar is a good term to use in this instance. His strength is explored differently in every piece of media containing him. 3.) we have yet to find out the full back story of monkey king and his journey in the show, especially after s4 ep11

Ah, LEGO wants this to be a continuation of JTTW but in LEGO. Yes the whole story is filled with everything Wukong has done with in literature. He has fought stars or constellations. That’s what’s leading into season 5-6

So after he finished his journey, he attained enlightenment and gained all forms of power

His title changed from Son Wukong great sage, equal to heaven too the fighting Buddha Son Wukong, over heaven

So leading up to attaining enlightenment, Wukong being passed thru the boundary of the conceivable universe, where Buddha actually is.

Buddha can’t fully exist in the universe but can have an avatar to represent them. Maybe made of mud or actually taking over a living being.

I have all the pieces to make two more motorcycles too EXCEPT for the actual bike farings, as they're next to impossible to get without spending crazy on shipping. I also have 15 extra Bull Clones and weaponry. I believe I have every DB set except the Flaming Foundry and the Bull Clone Tank.

Top is all MK team stuff. I wanna put Heavenly Realms and Nezhas Fire Ring on a shelf in the open space above. I wanna put the FF Mountain on a shelf on the wall inside that cubby with the sliding doors and then try to put the team hideout and maybe CoL down in front of it. Palace of the Dragon of the East and the DotE set will go where the mountain is now. Azure, Yellow Tusk, and the other (😬) will go on the shelf where the noodle shop is. DB family stuff in that one cubby, then Spider Queen, and then I'ma try to squeeze LBD and Macaque in that third cubby.

Yea, exactly. I think I'm going to build CoL as it would be at least once, and then I may use the set for the Gas Station MOC. Because that set doesn't really emulate a CITY like it's trying to. Idk. If I were going to put FF mountain into a city display, I'd have a hard time not wanting to put a ring of volcanoes around it (I'd never have the space for that) because im such a stickler for detail. Like, I'll probably wind up making the Temple of Airjitzu fit in with the other Ninjago modulars, but it's technically supposed to be floating in the sky, so something about that bothers me.. but I'm also only into Ninjago for the builds, not the lore, so I only care so much 😅

Yea I think this show beats ninjago by a lot. It’s not as story focused/ takes itself as seriously as ninjago but I think it’s fine and fits the fast paced, slapstick animation it has

The animation alone was enough to keep me interested. And I personally consider it one of the best animated 2D shows I’ve seen, the simple art style lends itself so well to their animation technique and every movement and colour pops

I really do think that LEGO has writers that have mastered story telling but wait to use them in the first season so they can test the waters with the theme.

Like to think Ninjago is really to help with that cause it took time for that to get good. Fun for sets but still limited story line information.

Now they have had amazing writers and continue to make great content. With both shows

I sourced as much as I can without learning Chinese on JTTW. Wukong is pivotal character. He is the most important character beside the protagonist.

Also at the end of Wukongs own Journey, he ascended and became the “Fighting Buddha Greater/above than Heaven Son Wukong”

The principles of his power are beyond comprehension lol. He is with The Buddha, also meaning he is the universe and is all things that exist in it like Buddha.

Plus Discord allowed it to happen, like they give you the ability to set up streams and stuff. Again it sounds very dumb if it’s against TOS but it’s still accessible for everyone

Not arguing but stating that it makes no sense if it’s available. Kinda feels like Discord trying to be like the cops. Gives you stuff and waits for you to break the rules with it and takes you in for their quota.

Maybe they should update there setting to not allow streaming of anything if anyone can just stream a show or movie. I guess no more game nights cause that is also having someone watch something for free too.

Or take out the feature that allows you to hook up any application to stream off the Discord.
