How do I do that?
https://foundryvtt.com/article/port-forwarding/ Covers the basics. But first, is Comcast your ISP? They have their own pain inducing special way of doing it
The official website and community for Foundry Virtual Tabletop.
I have spectrum for the moment. They aren’t super great either tbh lol
Ok, Google tells me they have their own interface thing. shakes first angrily https://www.spectrum.net/support/internet/advanced-home-wifi-advanced-settings has the directions and even includes the IP reservation step, which will save you future headaches. Once you get to the port forwarding part you'll want to set it to forward to your device's local IP address, port 30000, and TCP
Sign in to your Spectrum account for the easiest way to view and pay your bill, watch TV, manage your account and more.
It'll be under Port Forwarding and ISP Reservations. You can get your device's local IP by opening a command prompt (press Windows key and enter "cmd", then enter) and entering ipconfig. Then the output should look something like this
Ohhh lord. Time to dig for passwords lol
Ok so I've found my passwords and hit a snag. For some reason I don't have an "advanced settings" option anywhere on the app or the website. Upon looking farther into it that option is only available in select areas and mine isn't one of them apparently.
Though I did found out how to access my router from my computer so that might lead me somewhere
If you can access the router directly that might be enough. Else you might be stuck calling customer service and asking them to help
I've gotten to the port forwarding part, put in my computers local IP, Port 30000 and TCP. I have no idea what the port range part is about so I kinda just guessed
Sooo interestingly enough that red X in foundry is a green check mark now but the link still goes nowhere apparently. It's safe the say I have absolutely no idea what I'm doing but things are happening
MY GOD I FIGURED IT OUT!
