thank you
i have stuff open but i am multi tasking, so it will take me a minute to respond
Does your invite window show a green checkmark or a red x next to the internet invite link?
Alright, can you connect to the local invite link from another device on your network, like a phone on wifi?
uhh i do not have somthing to do that but what does it test? as my internet is fine
It tests whether a firewall or other security software is blocking connections on the local network already
Or a common misconfiguration of windows networking
But sure, we can test the internet side first
CGNAT is a service used by ISPs to decrease the number of IPv4 addresses their networks use. It places an additional router outside the customer's own network and provides them with an internal IPv4 address provided by the company. This often prevents incoming connections on numerous ports.
To confirm you are affected by CG NAT, use one of the following commands:
Windows 10: open a powershell window and use the following command
tracert -h 5 (curl https://ifconfig.me/ip -UseBasicParsing); tracert 8.8.8.8
Mac/Linux: open a terminal and use the following command
traceroute -m 5 $(curl -4 ifconfig.io); traceroute 8.8.8.8
After the command has completed, please post a screenshot here with the results so a troubleshooter can interpret them.

i watched this and got confused
I'm not sure what "adding your router" means and I'm not going to watch a 15min video to find out
ok
See the above request for diagnostic data
the cliffnotes are, the x s because i need to connect my router to the pc and open it to foundery
That is mostly correct. You need to forward the port Foundry uses on your router to your hosting computer to make Foundry internet accessible.
Sweet..that looks good so far
While you're in that Powershell window run the following command
traceroute -m 5 $(curl -4 ifconfig.io); traceroute 8.8.8.8 this one
Get-NetConnectionProfile | Select-Object NetworkCategory
Does it report Public or Private back?
Run Set-NetConnectionProfile -NetworkCategory Private
Ok, close Powershell, press win, search for powershell, rightclick the icon and select run as administrator
And then rerun the command
what does it do?
and it has a pin and i cant find my admin pin as of now
so give me time and i can do it, but i would also like to know what priviteising it work
Tell windows that your network isn't a public access wifi so that it doesn't hide your computer from other devices in the network
Other devices like your router
so it's just setting up network instead of internet
because im just trying to get a green checkmark and be able to invite my friends
Yes, your local network is between you and the internet
Set-NetConnectionProfile -NetworkCategory Private
1 sec need a drink
Sweet
In a perfect world, that was already enough, try restarting Foundry and see if the checkmark appeared
In a not perfect world, we have to setup manual portforwarding in your router still
Do you have access to your routers web interface?
idk
Advanced - Continue to
okay, thats good i'll need that to look up its manual
ok
Does it require you to login?
Unfortunately Spectrum blocks the EU (and thus me) from visiting their homepage, so I'm afraid I can't help you any further here
so what do i do
I would recommend installing the spectrum app which should allow you to port forward. If you can't from there then give spectum a call. Since you are on their equipment they are ultimately going to be the one to fix it if you can't make it work
how would i port forward on phone?
Through the Spectrum app that connects to your router.
The spectrum app connects to your router and sets up the rule. It's to "make it easier"
Narrator: It doesn't
I can't see your app, so I'm not sure. You could give spectrum a call if you can't find a spot in the app
