Printer
- Ender 3 V2
- 4.2.2 board
- Sprite Extruder Pro
- BLTouch
- Mriscoc Professional Firmware 20260106 BLTUBL
- OctoPrint on Raspberry Pi 4B
I am printing a straw with text and want the text in a different color. In Cura I added a Filament Change post-processing script at layer 61 using Marlin M600.
I checked the generated G-code and found:
- Exactly one M600 command at layer 61
- No M0, M1, M25, M125, M226, M412, or M876
- No other pause-related commands
So I don’t think the G-code is the issue.
Problem
When printing through OctoPrint, the printer enters Advanced Pause around layer 3 instead of layer 61.
The display shows:
Advanced Pause
Important finding
Yesterday I printed the exact same G-code file directly from the SD card with the Raspberry Pi disconnected.
The result:
- Print worked perfectly
- M600 triggered at layer 61
- Filament change behaved exactly as expected
Because the same file works correctly from the SD card, I no longer think the firmware is the main issue. It seems more likely that OctoPrint, a plugin, or USB communication is somehow triggering an unexpected pause.
Recent changes
I recently upgraded from:
- Bowden extruder
- Manual mesh firmware (2023 release)
to:
- Sprite Extruder Pro
- BLTouch
- 20260106 BLTUBL firmware
My start G-code is:
G92 E0
G28
G29 L0
G29 A
M420 Z0.5
Has anyone seen OctoPrint trigger an unexpected Advanced Pause or M600-like event early in a print? Any ideas on where to start debugging?
