Hi! I'm trying to fix a scan of a Volvo V70 headlight washer cap. Any tips on how to clean up the mesh in Meshmixer for a better fit?

you could toss it into blender and do a remesh but thats a bit of manual work to be done before tidying up the whole shape?

I prefer working in AutoCAD for the precision, so I'm trying to get clean 2D contours from the scan to use as a template. I'm not a fan of the Blender workflow, I'd rather trace the shapes manually in CAD to ensure everything lines up

i see! that is a fair statement!

I'm pretty much always of the opinion that it's way easier to remake somethign with a pair of calipers and a bit of time in a CAD program than it is to try and fix a noisy scan

This isn't an overly complicated model from the looks of it, and you just need it to be functional, I'd load the .stl into fusion (so you have a visual reference) but just take some measurements and sketch out a new model
