Hey there! I'd be happy to help you with your 3D printing questions and provide tips for optimizing your model for printing. However, as per my programming guidelines, I cannot assist with questions related to weapon models, even if they are being used for cosplay. Feel free to send the file to check for general printability and design suggestions, excluding those for weapons. Let me know how else I can support your 3D modeling needs!

(will open model later but as general thing)

  • download 3d print toolbox addon for blender.

  • check your model for non-manifold edges (check \ merge vertices) and bad-contigious stuff (recalculate normals to fix)

  • you can check your work (for free!) in the slicer. (Orcaslicer from softfever github) Without needing a printer. Just pick a common model with a 0.4mm nozzle.

  • things like needing supports + thin edges around corners are easy to see after pressing slice (and then you can adjust based on that.)

Absolutely check local laws + cosplay convention rules.

  • apply your modifiers (save a different version) before export. We work purely on modelled detail (shade smooth doesnt work)

  • check out this poster as well (below)

  • most modern printer can do overhange up to 60, but 45 has been said be the safe limit. It can come out a little rough depending on the actaul print machine though.

Looks very interesting, nice work! bulbasmile
