#Holes after swapping to matte filament

It is possible that the popping noises and holes are due to moisture in the filament. Matte PLA filament generally contains additives that make it more prone to absorbing moisture. I would recommend drying the filament before use by storing it in a dry box or using a filament dryer. Increasing the temperature slightly or adjusting the flow rate may also help improve the print quality. It's always a good idea to refer to the manufacturer's recommendations as well.
Ignore the inconsistent layer lines, that’s another issue I’m already trying to work out that was already happening
Unless I was sent old filament it should be entirely dry cause I literally popped the vacuum seal and put it straight on the printer
I’m reducing my retraction from 6mm to 4mm. Hopefully it should keep it from creating bubbles in the nozzle. That’s my only guess I could have as to what’s causing it. Assuming since the matte filament is more stretchy then it retracts differently from the normal PLA
Cause this was what I got directly before on the exact same setting with normal PLA
New filament doesn't mean dry filament. You should tune your pla profile for matte filament, apparently it prints quite differently to the normal pla.
I’ve gathered that much. I abandoned the first print and started a new one with lower retraction
No popping yet
Though it didn’t seem to start happening until further up the print
First hole was like 15 layers up. Though I did find that somehow I accidentally enabled printing outer layers first so maybe in some way that caused it? Or at least caused them to appear on the outside because of them printing sooner after a retraction
I mean at least so long as I can get them to happen on the inside I’ll be somewhat satisfied lol
