you can't do that
So am I stuck with the split bar?
yes.
you can't switch between layouts.
tho, if you happen to not like the split sb you can make use of your 30 day return window

I also would like it to be able to swap between layouts..

Burying it in the FAQ is a legitimate design failure
Just assuming it is possible is the real failure here 
It’s a textbook example of a design failure in user experience logic. Burying a permanent hardware restriction in an FAQ instead of putting it front and center during the selection process, I don’t need cheap PR
why would you assume it being possible? you can't make any logitech board compatible with multiple layouts.. only board I know is the rakka60
