I own a wooting 60HE v1 and i currently bought a mid tier board called irok what really upsets me is how much customization option available with the itok software and its OEM sparklink software, I dont know if v2 or 80HE or tenz has better software but I really wish wooting could see this issue
#Wooting software update

this is the rapid trigger and deadzone customization
i know the switches limit some of the features and pcb so i wanna understand if its worth getting 80 HE or V2
The rapid trigger customization is already in our firmware. For deadzone we chose an automatic option where switch selector will reduce deadzone to what we think are lowest safe levels based on the switch you install
So rather than you setting the deadzone, we opt for it automatically setting it to as low as we think is safe without accidental inputs, then if you want it less sensitive you increase rt/actuation amount
Yes I know rapid trigger is there but not this detailed its only press and release
No the thing is I need a very specific settings for rapid trigger and deadzone which i was testing for lurching and compared to lurching on wooting I felt on irok is easier yk coz of custom deazone and the rapid trigger fast trigger press travel and relase
Now I know its not the switches as star vector switches aren't as good as jades so I was thinking was it software coz I wanna invest in a end game board and no more after that thats why I was researching on venom 60HE which currently labled as fastest but honestly if wooting can help with the software updates the qc performance and esp customer support no one can beat wooting
So I thought to ask here once before buying extremely sorry if I said, something wrong btw please forgive like ur annoying little Bru
Also you see a thing im not much aware about malwares and this is not directly iroks software like wooting iroks own software is much worse this is sparklink oem software
Yes, as i explained, we have the press and release options. The deadzone we do not allow user setting because we automatically set it for you to the lowest possible. Other softwares do it a different way by having user set it themselves - just different way of doing things
For the record if you check the rtings review we are now ahead of the venom60 in performance and accuracy after the latest firmware update.
You'll have to decide how much you want to set your own deadzone (irok/venom) vs we set it for you to what we decide is the most accurate for the switch (wooting).
Also you'll need to decide how much you value switch additions, as we are one of the only companies actively updating our switch selector options to keep new switches added/performing at their best.
Eg. if you want to use the new ufo or wuque diamond switch in that specific keyboard, they do not have custom calibrated magnetic curves like we have in Wooting keyboards
Exactly this switch addition is a big point of me not wanting to go with venom or kraze
Got you brother i dunno how to say thanks but geniunely thanks for helping me out
@candid mango i know im bothering you but ive shared a benchmarking in dms im following this for a long time can we talk in dm if youre open to discuss
Extremely sorry again brother plss dont mind pls
huh? No one is claiming we're the only ones with the curve, we're saying we're the only ones updating it as regularly
also deadzone will adjust via deadzone based on how we tweak switch selector settings for that particular switch. So certain switches get less deadzone based on which are more stable in our testing to allow a lower deadzone that's still usable
as for your photo i don't know which firmware you tested it on nor the setting. If you tested pre switch selector there was more deadzone than after switch selector (also your definition of deadzone is slightly off because you seem to be combining both bottom actuation limit + deadzone added vs just deadzone)
As for switch selector, I do believe we update far more than any other keyboard brand for 3rd party switches. Unless you can point me to some others that also update more switch options as frequently as we do
I'm going to roughly assume your tests were pre switch selector update, unless you were using our beta firmware?
If you're curious to compare before/after deadzone, rtings measured it if you compare 80he vs 60he v2 reviews btw (you need paid sub with them now iirc)
this was on updated switch selector firmware with new lowest deadzone and detection ratio using updated curves:
more examples of post switch selector update (this below one is left side 60he v2 vs the fun60 ultra tmr on right)
this last one is vs. venom
But yes, we're not only ones with selector, just that we offer far more options for 3rd party switches/new switches in our selector because we actively update it far more often (for example Wuque Diamonds and UFO already been added)
