Keys turn Blue correctly, but the website doesnt find the device and this error occurs on the app

#

Im following the trouyblehsooter guid

#

I will give an update if this doesnt work

solid echo

are you using stock cable, and plugged it into the backside of your pc?

vernal steppe
#

Is it exclusively on the backside motherboard?

I physically do not have a USB C port as its old

#

On device manager I can see 3 HID keyboard devices I tried to delete them and replug the keyboarrd and when I do they come back

solid echo
#

the old ones come with a usb c to usb a cable

If I find the adapter do you think that will resolve the issue?

For reference, the earlier mention that the keyboard has “blue” LEDs would indicate the keyboard is in “Wooting restore” mode.

However, as the restore attempt failed and showed a “Bootloader” error, this suggests the keyboard is not being detected by Wootility.

So I would like to check how the keyboard is being detected, and if it is detected, what drivers are shown, so we can provide more targeted troubleshooting.

#

That error indicates a communication issue, likely where one of the data lines (D+ or D-) is not connected while the other still is, so the host machine can still detect a device is present.

In this case, it could be caused by:

  • A damaged USB port or bent pins on the host machine
  • A faulty USB-C cable or connector
  • A damaged USB-C port on the keyboard
  • A loose JST cable or daughterboard connection inside the keyboard
#

so for testing

  • Try another USB port further away from the current location

  • try another USB-C cable

  • Check the keyboard USB-C port if this has any substance or broken pins

  • Last point is reseating the internal JST cable (guide)

The USB port that I am connecting to works to charge a phone, im just not sure if its connected to the motherboard as its in the front.

The USB-C Cable definetly works as the keyboard works on other devices and can charge my phone

#

I do not know what the JST cable is, should I follow the guide?

glossy cypress
#

The JST cable is the internal cable that connects the USB-C port (Daughterboard) to the PCB

This has 4 wires (Ground , power , Data + , Data - ) and as you checked the other points likly the cause of the issue

for reference this would need the connect to be at an angle

This component is inside the 80HE so it would not be related to the cable/system port

vernal steppe
#

Ohhh its in the keyboard

#

Let me see if ill be able to do this now

#

I assume you need a screwdirver?

glossy cypress
#

Yes, the guide covers what you need.

If you have any feedback, it would be appreciated. I still feel like i could make it better)

I would probably recommend trying to plug the keyboard with the stock wooting cable directly into your motherboard first because that might be easier

vernal steppe

#

they tested the cable on anouther device and looks like the keyboard works fine

solid echo
#

only because a cable charges a phone doesn't mean it provides enough power/data for a keyboard. Or am wrong?

#

I am sorry for interrupting tho!

glossy cypress
#

If they mention only charging that would mean it atleast has Power/ground

#

but they mention using this on a keybaod so this uses Power/ground/data + / data -

vernal steppe
#

I cant lie there is no way for me to connect it directly to the motherboard or the backside of the computer

#

Maybe that is causing the issue should I check on another device?

#

I have a macbook that I can test it with or a PS5, is it compatible with either of these devices?

glossy cypress
#

ohhh.. i think i miss read the post (sorry) was the cable used on anouther device that send/recive data (gamepad, other keybaord, etc)

vernal steppe
#

The cable was used on another PC (Not at my dispotition anymore) and the keyboard worked fine, it was also used on a PS5 (And the keyboard worked)

solid echo
#

however not on your PS5

vernal steppe
#

The issue has been resolved: essentially despite the stock cable being functional and charging my phone, one of the ends mightve been faulty and therfore not functioned with the Wooting Keyboard. With another cable (The apple USB C) cable, the keyboard works perfectly fine

#

Thanks to you both for the enormous help and I wish you the best day

#

Is there anything I can do now for you guys (I dont know give a boost or something of the sort)

glossy cypress
#

sorry for the confusion (should of double checked the cable part)
