The keyboard will disconnect and reconnect seemingly at random (with the typical Windows "ping"), even while not in use. It can happen several times in the span of just a few minutes, or not at all for a period of several hours.

I considered the issue being the USB-C cable or the USB port on my system, but the cable is secure and the issue occurs regardless of the port in use.

I've only had the keyboard for a week or so, and it first occurred a couple days after I received it.

Can occur even if not in use, yes. Please check the internal cable and push both ends all the way into the connectors if needed.
