do you have any other softwares open like razer?
no nothing like that
So in Wootility you can see key press indicator move when you press keys but can't type with the keyboard?
yes shows my visual feed back but it wont let me do anything else with it
Most likely Windows didn't assign correct drivers. Can you go in Device Manager, click on 'View' > 'Devices by container', then expand Wooting 80HE and take a screenshot
So it's missing HID Keyboard Device driver and that's why you can't use the keyboard. Follow this article to fix it https://help.wooting.io/article/173-how-to-flush-all-dead-registry-entries
Sometimes even after following this guide Issue - Wootility doesn't detect the Wooting the Wootility still can not detect the keyboard, this can be because of d
did all of that and it still isn't recognized
Are you sure you followed every single step in the guide? Was your keyboard unplugged while uninstalling all the devices related to Wooting and removing the registry keys? Did you restart your PC afterward? Shutting down wouldn't help in this case.
Looks like there was some progress in following the guide, but the driver did not get assigned correctly again.
So it is possible that either
- Windows Plug and Play driver assignment process encountered an issue (if some registry files were not removed, it could be this)
- Some third-party software may be interfering or causing problems
I think in this case it is software interference. The challenge is narrowing it down, as it can be any software. In most cases, it relates to macro software (AutoHotkey, Razer, etc.). Otherwise, you can try the following:
- Manually assign the "HID Keyboard Device" driver where the error is present
- Find the software, disable it from auto-starting, and perform the guide again
- Launch the system into Windows Safe Mode, remove the drivers, and reconnect the keyboard (you can skip the other steps for this one). This will reassign the drivers, hopefully without interference
Marry me!!!!!!!!!
ok.. bit wired that i get two marriage offers in one day....
i suppose it went well ?
lol you deserve it thank you so much. And yes that fixed all my problems!
Just a heads up if you found the software cause then pretty much all good if disable.
If not, and the keyboard updates the device descriptors in a firmware update (this is rare), this will cause the drivers to be reassigned again, and if the issue/cause is still present may need to perform guide again
