#Keyboard potentially came defective? | Wooting 80HE | Keyboard disconnecting/not working

Hey, so my 80he came in today (not TenZ edition, ANSI), and, at first it seemed to work alright for maybe 30 minutes. Then, it randomly disconnected. I unplugged the usb-c cable and plugged it back in, which seemed to fix the problem for around 10-15 minutes before randomly disconnected again. Over time, the keyboard seemed to be disconnecting more frequently, until it eventually just stopped working. As it stands right now, even disconnecting and reconnecting won't do anything. This is what I have tried:

  • Connecting the keyboard to my laptop to see if the problem persisted (it did)
  • Reset the keyboard (twice)
    - The third time I tried to reset it, I was faced with an error message (Bootloader)
  • I unplugged every other USB device from my computer (idk at first I was thinking it was a power related issue)
  • I moved the USB cable connected to the Wooting into different slots
  • I used a different USB-C to USB-A cable

I'm posting here just in case there's a solution I'm not thinking of. Otherwise, it might be time to send it back lol.

Sometimes, you may need to fully disassemble your keyboard, whether it's to swap out stabilizers or replace components due to a defect. In this video, we'll guide you through the process.
