If you are experiencing your keyboard pressing random keys and opening programs, then you came to the right video. The issue is usually caused by an instable amount of voltage entering the board. Follow along to see what you can do about it.

this video might help to check some points
Yea saw this before but if i remember correctly it was only for the "random input" part Not the thing with it just randomly stops detecting it for a millisecond
the "issues" might also be the reason for it disconnecting
Yeaa true.. it just seems weird yk? but ur prob right
if your cable doesn't provide enough power, it might do the random inputs and also it might disconnect
do you have any magnets near your wooting? this might also cause issues
Uhh no only things near it is my microphone, phone, mouse (and logitech charging mousepad) and my monitors
well, try out the things in the video
Yea i will appreciate it tho if its not working and i cant find any other things ill just try and contact wooting i think idk
Cause its so annoying
yea they provide pretty good support, if it's a faulty board it's probably covered by warranty
Prob not no cause ive had it for a bit over a year but the input thing started like a few months back like 2-3 but since it was just replug my keyboard i didn't really think anything of it but now that its also "loosing"? inputs its a bit of a worry
wooting provides a 4 year warranty
Oh dang
(2 years led)
Hi i think you may have 2 issues or possible one that is causing both
- Wooting 80HE phantom presses on boot
This issue seems to be limited to the 80HE and for a small set of user using 2.12 firmware or above
to check can you rollback the firmware and see if this resolves the problem.
Rollback firmware.
To upload an older version of the firmware, please follow the steps below.
- Use this link https://wootility.io/?test-builds=true (this URL has Test builds enabled)
- Click on "Settings"
- Select "Updates"
- Select "Your keyboard"
- Press "Get Test Firmware"
- Press "Select Test Build"
- Select "V2.11.0+rollback"
Note if this resolves the problem please keep us informed
We are investigating this issue, but as we can't replicate the problem ourselves and have not received any replies to emails, the investigation is at a standstill. If you are interested in assisting us, please reply and I can provide some tests that may help us find a solution.
Keyboard lack of response
I think this may be tied to a loose internal JST cable. For reference, my theory is that when you press the keys near Caps Lock, the vibrations reach the JST connector and briefly disconnect the keyboard, causing presses/events to be missed until the connection is reestablished.
If this is the cause to fix this issue, you can follow our Video guide on Video guide on the disassembly of the Wooting 80HE.
Then simply press the two JST connectors at both ends, reassemble the keyboard, and see if this resolves the issue.
For reference a picture of the JST Cable"
Note the issue above (MAY) be linked to communication issues, but this is hard to say.
Sometimes, you may need to fully disassemble your keyboard, whether it's to swap out stabilizers or replace components due to a defect. In this video, we'll guide you through the process.

In...
Ill try the first thing with changing firmware if that works ill let you know here in a week ish 🙂
But i think u might be right because it started happening after i updated my firmware a while back
Well think i gotta go with the jst cable since it still does the not "working" thing but the random inputs it havn't done today atleast..
for refernce the JST connector is below the capslock
you may be able to trigger this to check by taping/pressing the capslock key
Okay so a quick update from ive been seing is that the keys not "working" for a milisec happened on the day u helped me after that there wasn't anything problems with that and we talked about how it might be firmware update problem and i think you might be right in some way because i changed as you asked me to and now its not happening anymore BUT instead when i turn my pc on my keybard is not "connected" even tho the cable is still connected so i still gotta like taked my cable out of the keyboard and stick the cable in again but thats still better than random inputs whenever i turn on my pc
so that last issue - That looks like a USB-Hi speed issue.
Try lowering the polling to 1000hz and see if that helps
(some usb-controllers have issue with USB-Hi speed devices on boot witch causes emulation issues)
Ahh i see ill try it and see what happens
i will note bit strange to have so many problem at once
