Hey All,
My computer has been randomly freezing while gaming and this issue started as soon as I switched from my Logitech keyboard to the new Wooting TenZ edition two days ago. I still use the Logitech app as I have a Logi mouse, though I don't think this is the cause of this issue. I have made sure to remove all my old devices via device manager and the registry to no avail.
Essentially, my computer will completely freeze on the current screen and all USB inputs on the PC completely die. The only fix here is to hard reset the computer as nothing will work.
System Stats
- GPU: 5090 (latest Nvidia driver, did a clean instal to no avail)
- CPU: Ryzen 9950X3D
- Mobo: Gigabyte X870E Aorus Pro (on latest bios version)
- PSU: Corsair RM1200x (1200W PSU, no issues)
- On latest Windows 11 update
- All drives up to date
- On latest Wooting update and using the default TenZ Profile
I should also mention that this first occurred when I was playing Battlefield 6 and within an hour or two of hooking up this keyboard to my PC (using the red/black cable that came with it). This freezing only occurs while gaming. I tried many USB ports on the back of my computer (3.2, etc) to no avail. This occurred with and without Tachyon Mode enabled. Somehow, the entire motherboard chipset is getting locked up and kills the USB controller. I was tracking my CPU and GPU temps + usage and those are always within normal limits so it isn't an overheating issue causing this. I also checked my event log post crash and nothing appreciable was mentioned there. During the first two freeze ups I was just using the keyboard as a plug and play device right out of the box. During all the remaining ones since I have been on the latest update via Wootility.
Everything points to the Wooting TenZ being the culprit in this scenario and I'm honestly at a loss as to why at this point.
Any help or insight would be greatly appreciated. Thank you.
