I'm not sure how to help you since we cannot see the issue 😅
managed to get a better video of it happening
does this happen on the website version
nope just the app, im using the website in the meantime instead
i uninstalled and reinstalled wootility to try and fix it but it didn't solve anything 💔
idk who handles this internally but @willow stratus prob knows who to poke about maybe upgrading electron
or maybe its gpu hw acceleration or some such
Do you have OLED monitor?
not quite sure how thats related
just disabled hardware acceleration gpu scheduling in the windows settings and restarted, also didn't solve it sadlyy
i mean in electron (the wootility installed app is basically a chromium browser without being able to go to other websites)
The only issue sort of like this I've seen had to do with forcing settings on the Nvidia control panel
But that was the UI being blurred because of forced fxaa which is not this at all
@dry haven did you recently update windows/drivers or do some kind of gaming performance tweaks?
We upgraded electron very recently
i did change my nvidia control panel settings recently but im positive i didn't change my global settings
i don't know if this information will help find the problem either but just pressing any key make the window freak out
also, only a few of the visual problems show through OBS recording, alot of them only appear on the screen and don't pick up on recording
specifically everything flickering black or white, doesn't show up when i try record it
it not showing up when recording would indicate its either happening outside the recording framerate or isnt happening on the pc side but monitor side
Now I'm wondering if your GPU is dying
i don't believe its frame rate cos sometimes it just freezes as black but obs still doesn't pick it up
god i hope not its not even 2 years old
my drivers should be updated but ill go quickly try reinstall and see if that helps
if it gets stuck at black for like half a sec or so and obs doesnt pick it up yeah im with diogo id be worried about other stuff as well
sounds like when i had a GPU with the "Vram" failing it would cause all sorts of visual issues till it died
i mean, forgive me cos im not like super clever when it comes to pcs but i don't really play anything gpu heavy all too much and when i do i play them on the lower side of quality settings to be safe
i also never have like performance problems with anything else everything works all good
if reinstalling drivers doesn't work then ill try find a spare monitor maybe cos im starting to think it could be the issue somehow
and see if the problem still carries over
For reference, “VRAM” is where graphics information is temporarily stored to be used for processing graphics data or sending it to the monitor. If this starts to fail, it can cause some strange visual issues. This can range from spots on the screen, sections of the screen going blank, issues with game textures, blue screens, certain ponts not updating correctly etc.
It is pretty rare, and not tied to settings, so if you start to experience a widespread range of issues, it may be related (hopefully it is not).
(could also just be a driver issue)
so it might just be bad luck and my card could just be failing even if the settings is seemingly giving me the all good? 😬
Another thing that came to mind is overlays
Do you have msi afterburner or similar?
If so, try turning it off
i don't believe i have anything like that
and i definitely didn't activate any overlay kinda stuff around the time the problem started happening
also reinstalling drivers didn't help the problem, rip
Try disabling gsync / freesync, searching for the issue I can see it might cause similar issues
minimising the window seems to make it go back to normal also
like minimising and maximising it
but then obviously the second i interact with it
it goes crazy again lol
yea ill live of course its just a strange problem with the app specifically
Very visible VRR flicker
