Hi !
I would like to use/buy the TenZ takeover kb, but i'm french, the ISO fr is not available in this configuration, so do you think i can just use the french azerty configuration on windows and switch the keycaps to have the good layout ? Some kb have a keycaps with a different size by line, for example The keys are higher on the first row and lower on the second, and if we change them we can see a difference in size, which causes a problem

its just an ansi keyboard and has the same limitations as any ansi keyboard if you wanna use it with languages that traditionally use ISO
My actual kb have this problem, the y keycaps is not at the same size
thats because its not a qwerty set
you put the y key in the wrong spot
you basically switched z and y which means the z key is also wrong for its row
Exactly, that's why I wondered if it would do the same thing with this keyboard
So if I get this keyboard I'll have the same problem ?
keycaps have something called a profile which determines angles
yes
what is this 80he ?
most keycap sets are either OEM profile or Cherry profile
our keycap sets are also only cherry and oem depending on the specific set
youd have to buy different keycaps if you want azerty
So same pb with my akko5098b....
youd have to specifically shop for an ISO FR set which wouldnt fit on the ANSI keyboard if it doesnt have ansi caps included (which isnt always the case)
Do you have a link for this type of market?
the common solutions are:
- dont buy ansi keyboards and only ISO
- ignore whats printed on the keycaps (only whats set in windows/linux/macos matters anyway)
- switch to US as your keyboard layout in the OS so ANSI keycaps match with the legends
probably simple to find with google
Krome Keycaps LTD
Custom French Keyboard Keycaps – ISO-FR, AZERTY Layout Enhance your keyboard with our custom French keycaps, designed for the ISO-FR layout and AZERTY configuration. These keycap sets include full support for French characters such as é, è, ç, à, ù, and accented symbols, with correct key sizing and layout. Choose from
yeah one of the first results
if youre lucky they can also answer you via support if the sets include ANSI and ISO keycaps but with whatever language print you want (French in your case)
btw there is advantages to switching to ANSI full time and just accepting the US print on the keycaps... for example that you can now buy most keycaps sets on the market as most of them are made only for ANSI
including cool prints and what not
How i can be sure the keycaps fit perfectly ? I'm new in this game ^^'
you ask them what i already wrote... if the sets include ANSI and ISO keycaps for your selected language
if so theyll just fit
the reason is that they print the characters on the right keycaps so the height is correct
It's really not easy when you're not from this field, I'm doing my research, thank you very much
@normal berry the only solution for me to use this awesome kb and keep the keycaps it’s to ask at one designer to redraw the letter
Wooting selling some kb iso fr ?

You can buy the regular 80HE, which has ISO and French keycaps as an option. Won't be TenZ themed of course.
