RESOLVED: even though no lights on keyboard, it was showing in Windows to restore
how did you type this if it was bricked
wait.. you hack!!
I was happening to me as well when updating keyboard. It suddenly bricked and no light showing up. How did you fix it?
Click help on the left side of Wootility for a step by step.
On wootility? It shows no connection to the keyboard.
Yes. Click the button and follow the instructions.
It seems not working
Then you'll have to contact support
OK. I fixed it. @sick ledge Thanks a lot.
For those who also facing the similar issue with “Bricked” Wooting:
-
Check the logs first
Open Wootility logs.
If you see the device connecting internally → bootloader is alive. -
Device detected but no RGB
Totally normal in recovery mode.
No lights ≠dead keyboard. -
Firmware flash kept failing on my main PC
Recovery would start, then fail with: communication with device timed out
Likely USB / driver / HID conflict. -
Switched to another computer (this is the key)
Ran recovery again → firmware flashed successfully. -
Got stuck on “waiting for device / deviceReconnect”
Important part:
• Wait ~30 seconds
• Unplug keyboard
• Plug it back in once
Keyboard re-enumerated, lights came back, Wootility detected it.
I did the reset keystroke of Backspace + FN. Then plugged back in and went to control panel and devices and could see 'Wooting Restore' was available. Then went to Wootility.io and Help then restore from there and its working again
