#Lekker Tikken with L45 Springs - scratchy/grinding feeling (Wooting 80HE)

Hi!
I have the Wooting 80HE with the Lekker Tikken Switches. I recently changed the stock springs with the L45 Springs that are sold on the Wooting page (they are compatible). I was extremly careful when swapping the springs to only touch non-lubed place of the switch. Essentially in the inner area i only touched the old spring and exchanged it for the L45 one. I am 100% certain that i didnt take away any of the factory lube.

Now i am feeling, when pressing the switches up/down a couple of times (not fully, just hovering a couple millimeters) a slight scratchy/grinding feeling from time to time. Not always, but i would say for most of the switches i can reproduce this. Its hard to describe, i dont feel it when normally typing, but only when playing with WASD for example.

I still have an unmodified Lekker Tikken Switch with the stock spring and i can reproduce it there also although not as often. So the feeling i am having might not have to do with my L45 spring modification at all.

Nevertheless i wanted to get input in what i could do and if others have had similar experience. I heard that the factory lube on the tikken should be quite good, so i am not sure if i should attempt to re-lube them. Especially because i could make it worse. Or maybe i am just too sensitive as i am not used to linear switches.

Would appreciate your input thanks 🙂

If the springs you removed were not lubed, then something was completely wrong. I have done the same, albeit with 100g springs, but definitely noticed lube on the old springs. So yes, if you do not like how it feels now, you will need to relube them

I read that the lekker tikken stock springs are not factory lubed. Only the top/bottom part of the housing where the spring sits on are. When i removed the stock ones there was a tiny amount on the ends i would say.
