How's the keyboard connected to the PC?

subtle umbra
#

im using the usb adapter that came with it

meager scroll
#

So it's plugged directly into the motherboard using the included USB cable?

subtle umbra
#

yes

#

changing ports did nothing

meager scroll
#

Any RGB softwares running in the background that can interfere with Wootility's connection to the keyboard?
Artemis RGB
Asus Armoury Crate
L-Connect3
Open RGB
Project Aurora
Razer software
Signal RGB
Motiv Mix
Nano Leaf desktop app

subtle umbra
#

no, i uninstalled the only rgb software i had just in case

meager scroll
#

Did you replug the keyboard after uninstalling the software?

subtle umbra
#

restarted my pc too, that also didnt seem to do anything

meager scroll
#

Are you using desktop Wootility app or web software? If web software, which browser are you using?

subtle umbra
#

i’m using the app, but the website on brave (browser) had the same issue

meager scroll
#

Can you try using a different cable and port and then attempt to restore one more time in a Chrome or any other browser

subtle umbra
#

ill try another cable

#

that didnt work eitehr

#

i used a different cable in a different usb port

#

should i try without the usb dongle? just usb c?

surreal kestrel
#

I also had the issue on the two HE when I tried to reset

#

I just did the whole reset process again

#

And it worked but idk about your case

#

It’s was stuck “connecting device” and then “connections failed try again”

subtle umbra
#

ive reset it like 10 times to no avail unfortunately

surreal kestrel
#

I mean restart the process fully not just replug it in

#

Cause that also didn’t work, had to fully restart

subtle umbra
#

im not following

surreal kestrel
#

It would ask you to replug the keyboard, but that didn’t work for me, had to hold down the keys for resetting again

#

For it to initiate the reset

#

And it worked after that

subtle umbra
#

oh yeah im doing that

surreal kestrel
#

Hmm then idk man, best of luck to you

subtle umbra
#

thank you

surreal kestrel
#

Mine worked after like 2-3 tries

Can you go in Device Manager, click 'View' > 'Devices by container', then take a screenshot

subtle umbra
#

i can show you the error log if that helps

meager scroll
# subtle umbra

That seems normal. Can try disabling background apps and then try again, in case some software is interfering

subtle umbra
#

i cant imagine anything would be interfering. i havent installed any software in the past week or so

#

what would you recommend i look for

meager scroll
# subtle umbra what would you recommend i look for

I listed possible softwares that can interfere with the connection, not exactly sure what else can mess with it. Disable everything in the system tray and then restore it. Just making sure, to restore the keyboard you pressed top right and bottom right keys while plugging the keyboard right?

subtle umbra
#

yes i did, whats weird is that i get a message in the app saying that the keyboard has been disconnected and when i plug it in again its recognized. the issue seems to be with the wootility app. could i try uninstalling it and downloading an older version?

meager scroll
#

Shouldn't be an issue with the Wootility if it happens in both web and desktop softwares

#

Do you have another PC or laptop to try restoring it there? to rule out that the issue isn't the keyboard itself

subtle umbra
#

yeah that didnt help either. i have almost nothing in my tray as well. and right now theres nothing else i can plug it into no

#

this makes no sense to me

meager scroll
#

Not sure what can be an issue here. Would be better to contact Wooting for further assistance https://wooting.io/support
