Hello,

I recently bought an Alumaze60 case and a 60HE v2 module.

The Alumaze60 case already came with its own foam.
The 60HE v2 module also came with an additional foam/silicone layer that is supposed to go between the case and the module.

Now my question is:
Is it actually intended/compatible to install both foams together (the Alumaze foam + the 60HE v2 silicone layer)?

At the moment, I only have the Alumaze foam installed and placed the module directly on top of it.
No matter how often I reinstall it, the USB-C port is never centered in the cutout. It is always positioned noticeably too high.

My concern is that if I also install the silicone layer from the 60HE v2, the USB-C port would sit even higher and be even more misaligned.

So I wanted to ask:
• Are the Alumaze foam and the 60HE v2 silicone layer meant to be used together?
• Is the Alumaze60 fully compatible with the 60HE v2 module in this configuration?
• And is the USB-C port supposed to be perfectly centered, or am I missing something in the installation?

Thank you very much for your help.

The USB-C port should be aligned perfectly, try referring to this video and see if it helps you https://youtu.be/eJgxb9WtYGY, I also I recommend either searching in #🔧│keyboard_modding or asking in there directly as I'm not too skilled in modding and especially the Alumaze60 😅 Maybe somebody else will hop in here and help you out though

Bored of the stock 60HE/60HE+ case? Swap it over into on of our premium Alumaze60 cases or any other third party cases! Thankfuly the process is easy, and doesn't require a ton of tools. :)

Yes. Grounding is necessary in the Alumaze. Otherwise there's no contact point between the PCB and case.

It does.

So i put the module inside the case and then the screw right? Not screw first and then the module

Correct. Module in first, then one screw through the module in the top right hole.

It's a SCREW. Of course you need a screw driver.

#

Go grab a PH1 (Philips) screwdriver.

Yes… But i dont have this small one..

The hole is very small for my tools

Guess you've got a trip to the hardware store in the immediate future planned then. In the meantime you CAN use it without the screw. But you might feel a slight zap occasionally.

Why is there actually no manual for this? For example, that I should remove the screw from the golden part at the bottom left of the Alumaze60 because it’s only meant for transport, and that a screw should be installed at the top right, etc.

I only found this information by searching and digging around on Discord.

Theoretically, my module was lying for days only on one screw (the bottom left one near the golden part). Of course, this means I didn’t have proper pressure/support on the PCB.
